About our Group: The Autonomous Systems and Control team in India works on building reliable anthropomorphic control for autonomous systems. Our team of world class researchers work in the areas of perception, data driven control and verification and validation (V&V). We are looking for talented, highly motivated researchers to develop autonomous system capabilities for Siemens’ next generation products.
Technical Expert – Sustainable Automation Solutions
We are looking for highly capable researchers to develop autonomous system capabilities for Siemens’ SAS (Sustainable Automation Solutions-IN) Research Group.
This is your role. What part will you play?Define, research, and implement Industrial Edge applications and runtime platform enhancements for manufacturing industries, including signal processing, control and optimization algorithms, connectivity, data translation, computer vision and machine learning methodsDrive R&D projects in cooperation with stakeholders, especially with end customers, Technical Team, Product Managers or Product Owners and other business unit and research partners and system integrators
Support cross-functional collaboration within global team and beyond, ensures transparency on work items and progress in team.
Understand technology roadmaps and business needs to acquire funding from Siemens business units and end customers
Lead junior research scientists and software engineers
Support the research group’s and technology field’s strategic research roads, technology, business, and people development
Try to solve the most challenging and scalable use cases t the intersection of shopfloor automation and IT technologies together with a motivated team of technical, industry and business experts
Conduct empirical and theoretical research in designated area and publish at top conferences and journals.
Work closely with experts from other domains to plan and execute projects
Adhere to all PM and QM processes as required by organization
We don’t need superheroes, just super minds
Masters or Ph.D. in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields
10+ years of experience, preferably in manufacturing industries, or in an industrial research center, a national lab, or in academia required
3+ years of experience in management of R&D projects required
Solid understanding and practical expertise in signal processing, embedded technologies, high-performance edge computing, computer vision, robotics, machine learning, statistics, and algorithms
Very strong knowledge of tools and programming languages to develop (high performance) Edge applications, e.g. C/C++, MATLAB, Python, JavaScript
Established network with research institutions and academia is a plus
Highly motivated and driven business professional with a can-do attitude
Drive to create innovative solutions for manufacturing industries, keeping customer, business, technical and personal constraints balanced
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a growing, dynamic and international team with a strong customer service orientation
Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills in English required. Capable of presenting complex technical topics in a clear and structured way, ability to moderate discussions, meetings, and projects.
Curiosity to ask questions and find innovative solutions to technical challenges
