What You’ll Be Doing:
Position summary
Under the supervision of the Sr. Director/Director of Evolent Health Services (EHS) Technical communication, the Technical Writer serves a critical role by maintaining product documentation (e.g., user guides, release notes, Process and Procedures) for our Services IT and Operations Organizations. The Technical Writer builds relationships with engineering, IT, operations, and technology support operations stakeholders and subject matter experts of all types (e.g., developers, product managers/owners, end users) to understand the infrastructure and processes at both technical and business levels, and then translates that knowledge into straightforward, informative content. The most successful Technical Writers at Evolent are proactive self-starters, not easily discouraged, and comfortable operating in unstructured environments.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position’s main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Create and maintain product documentation for Evolent Health Services.
Publish product documentation within set deadlines.
Build relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to facilitate documentation efforts.
Identify and implement best practices to ensure high quality documentation distributed in a timely and appropriate manner.
Works with department leads and SMEs to gather content and set approval process.
Manage documents and projects via Confluence, SharePoint or other tracking systems.
Keep Manager informed of all project requests and special client documentation requests.
On request, review documentation prepared by other department members or other departments to ensure content quality and standards are met.
Mandatory Skills
Minimum 1 year developing content as a technical writer
Minimum 1 year experience working with stakeholders to understand technical solutions to business requirements
Strong written and verbal communication, including proficiency in MS Office
Strong time-management skills
Experience with authoring & publication tools
Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Skills
Certification in Technical Writing
Minimum 1 years’ experience in healthcare industry
Maintenance of electronic document management solutions like SharePoint
Understanding of scrum and Agile methodologies
Experience reading use case/user stories
Experience with JIRA/Confluence
Experience in instructional design
