YOUR WHY
You believe genuinely that Australians need a smarter bank and you want to be on the frontline of introducing them to it. You’ll be a guru UX copywriter, particularly with brand, apps and collateral. You get out of bed in the morning excited about building a brand and cutting through the noise to connect with customers on an emotional level.

This role reports to the Head of Design.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME AT 86 400

The UX Copywriter’s role is to shape product experiences by creating consistent, simple, useful and meaningful text that helps users complete the task at hand. You will help shape the overall customer experience and be an integral part of the Product and Design team. You help maintain consistency and product narratives across multiple platforms. As a UX copywriter, you have a portfolio that demonstrates content that enhances and simplifies the overall user experience.

Take ownership and make your mark
You’ll lead the copy across all digital channels, from an award-winning app to web & home loans content. In this flat-structure environment, you’ll get to make some impactful decisions and advocate for good, consistent copy across the business that aligns to our unique tone of voice. Turn ‘bank speak’ into ‘customer speak’ and inject personality and fun into our digital channels, creating delight among our customers.

Your day-to-day looks like this
You’ll work very closely with a passionate and talented bunch of UX and UI designers and engineers to create incredible experiences in our digital channels. You’ll be managing stakeholders from Brand, Compliance, Legal, and Product. You’ll be working with our style guide to ensure we maintain a consistent narrative in all our communications and experiences.

What does your team look like
In your role as a UX Copywriter, you’ll work in the Design team alongside UX and UI designers and researchers. The design team sits within the Product & Marketing so you’ll always have close contacts to other creative areas across the business.

WHAT MAKES YOU TICK

You’ve been delivering copy long enough to have some real wins under your belt; you like being accountable for results.
You understand a copy writers’ job is not done until we meet the customers’ need and deliver simple interactions every time.
You’ve either worked in a start-up or have a burning desire to be in one and you’re keen to collaborate in a fast-paced agile environment.
You love writing content and you are confident in justifying your content decisions
You’re committed to providing a winning experience for our users by allowing good UX practices to inform your ideas
You communicate openly, quickly, transparently and clearly
You can effectively manage change, and assess the impact of change on requirements and impact on delivery
You are comfortable with uncertainty and can manage conflicting priorities quickly and effectively
Having the opportunity to review the build of your work and raise tickets with designers to ensure the quality of the content you have created

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO 86 400
Experience in using JIRA, Confluence, Analytics Tools
Understanding of Agile Tools and Processes
Exposure to API Development for error handling
A problem-solving and collaboration skillset
Strong attention to detail
A Qualification
Financial services experience is preferable
Effective communication skills, both written and oral
