About the position
We’re looking for Residential Youth Workers in Toowoomba / Gatton / Oakey and surrounds. This casual position will see you providing practical and emotional support to young people in residential settings. Working with our community service partner, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact and empower people to maximise independence.

You will be responsible for providing physical care, recreation, teach daily living skills, educate and create a positive and safe living environment for young people.

This position involves a variety of shift types including morning, afternoon, sleepovers and active nights.

About you
To be considered for the position you must have the following requirements:
Hold a Certificate IV in Youth Work (or relevant industry related qualification) or proof of enrolment
First Aid Cert, CPR cert, Blue card & Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
Hold a current Australian Drivers Licence and your own reliable vehicle
The ability to work a wide variety of shifts, including ‘on call’ emergency based work
Demonstrated understanding about supporting young people within therapeutic residential care
Have knowledge of trauma and how it affects the development and behaviours of young people
A positive, can-do attitude and a desire to wake up each day ready for a new challenge
A true passion for making a difference as a part of the Edmen family
Currently enrolled in a Youth related course and want to start?
Only candidates who are currently studying relevant courses (Youth Work, Child Youth and Family Intervention, Community Services) will be considered for this role. So, if you are midway through or nearly finished your course, we’d love to hear from you!

Candidates with the following will be highly regarded:
Demonstrated experience as a Residential Youth Worker supporting young people within therapeutic residential care
Hold a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Youth Work or Community Services
Hope and Healing Certificate
Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) trained
Youth Mental Health First Aid
An understanding of trauma and attachment theories and the resulting behaviours likely to be demonstrated by our young people
