About the role:
We seek highly dedicated, motivated, and passionate Custom API Software Developers to join our team of API development specialists. Work closely with our UI team to bring new APIs to existing components to enable new parts of the UI as part of the broader platform.
Key responsibilities:
Experience with design and development of RESTful JSON Web Services using Java & converting web services from SOAP to REST or vice-versa.
Experience in API layer like security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, monetization, request and response modifications etc.
Experience in Java / J2EE / Enterprise Java solutions, including Java frameworks, including Spring, JSF, and Hibernate.
Work closely with UI team to rapidly develop and deploy new API Services within the platform / 3’rd Party applications.
Enough knowledge of HTML5, dHTML, Stylesheets (CSS), JavaScript, JQuery and respective browser compatibility issues (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome).
Participating in group meetings to discuss projects and objectives & Meeting deadlines on fast-paced deliverables
Experience in creating REST API documentation using Swagger and YAML or similar tools desirable
You must have:
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Between 2 to 8 years experience in API Designing and implementing Java-based programming applications & other languages being a major plus
Experience performing peer code reviews both to mentor and ensure code quality
Experience building automated unit and integration tests
Ability to come up to speed on new codebases quickly
Ability to adapt to existing codebase styles and patterns
Experience with Scrum and other Agile processes.
Experience with JIRA, JENKINS, GitHub / other Code Repositories
You should have amazing communication and organizational skills
It will be very good if you have:
Web Technologies (DHTML, AJAX, etc.) , HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
UI front-end and back-end frameworks
Experience with Security frameworks (e.g., JWT, OATH2)
Database development with SQL / NoSQL databases (e.g. SQL Server, MySQL, Apache Ignite, and others)
Building and deploying cloud-based software using AWS or GCP
Cable or Satellite industry knowledge is a plus
Physical requirements:
