Job Description : Overview:

The Applications Lead will oversee the Applications Team. They play a critical role in crafting a strategy for the team and are ultimately responsible for implementing the programs/projects that support that strategy. This role provides oversight of the fully lifecycle of Microsoft S QL, Microsoft SharePoint, accounting software, HR software, and affiliated solutions. Stakeholder engagement is also critical. Key stakeholders include internal users of supported technology, external clients, peer IT Leads, and other 3rd parties.
The Lead is counted as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the supported technologies. This includes deployment, monitoring, testing, troubleshooting, and status communication (incidents/outages/issues) of all supported technology. They must also keep up to date on industry trends and developments regarding applications and toolsets.
System integration, oversight of 3rd party software developers, and oversight of internal software development projects are also in scope for this role.
Success is measured by stakeholder feedback as well as the availability, reliability, consistency, and performance of supported technologies.
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Lead/champion application lifecycle roadmaps, forecasting application and data relevancy, classification, procurement or decommissioning of assets, and workflow with other enterprise systems
Deliver recommendations and solutions that improve internal and external client business processes, expose expert knowledge, facilitate knowledge transfer, implement standardizations, and improve data validity and usage across the enterprise
Customer Service – Be single point of contact (escalation) for all application matters, proactively anticipate business needs/requirements and provide frequent status/communication updates to Management and business partners (for projects, tasks)
Fulfillment – Responsible for execution of all planned projects, tasks and maintenance activities, utilizing standardized tools, processes, framework and guidelines; provide estimates for projects; monitor and track schedule (to budget)
Change and Configuration Management – Own change management for the portfolio of applications, tools; coordinate and document all change activities and responsible for keeping information about applications, infrastructure, integrations and other pertinent datasets accurate and up to date
Partner with the infrastructure, security, telecom, technical support and the tool teams to ensure application support, standards, function, and requirements are represented, accurate, and cohesive; plan to effectively manage capacity and releases
Architect and specify application server solutions that take into account cost, growth, load/performance, redundancy, and disaster recovery
Develop deliverables via effective analysis, tools/app deployments, implementations, maintenance, and management of software technologies & tools.
Lead/direct problem statement, objectives, metadata, risks and requirements gathering as relates to projects and tasks; forge a game plan for the maintenance, fix and/or new solution that provides the best fit
Project manage, design/architect, code, configure, and install quality custom and/or vendor application implementations on premise or in the cloud
Technical application support involving patch management, monitoring, troubleshooting applications, data, and server platforms
Manage and assign development tools license agreements where appropriate (i.e., SQL Server, Visual Studio etc.) and proactively manage quantities and types per enterprise agreements or other contracts for overage avoidance
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of software engineering / software development / applications development experience
Significant experience with .Net/C#, ASPX code development, SQL Server data design, code development, SAAS/mobile development, programming languages and APIs including Microsoft .Net Framework/C#/ASPX technologies, MVC method, AJAX technologies, XML technologies, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, JavaScript, Perl, MS Office VBA, SQL Server TSQL, SQL Server SSRS, SQL Server SSIS, Objective C, and Windows Workflow Foundation
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft platforms, including SQL Server (2008 and above), SharePoint 2013+ and IIS8.
Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Suite, Microsoft Visual Studio 2012+, Microsoft SharePoint Designer, XCode Tools
Development and implementation experience in different methodologies including Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall
Experience developing and/or implementing large systems (i.e. Intranet, ERP, CRM)
Experience with Microsoft Office 2013 or Office 365
Ability to lead and manage growing team of resources (internal and contract) and demonstrate ability to build new systems/applications or grow functionality of existing applications with keen focus on the business needs and providing best-fit and value solutions
Experience in undertaking complex applications development projects involving multiple people resources, applications, infrastructure potentially impacting multiple facets of the business
Demonstrate superior analytical thinking in all aspects of development and implementation; present and articulately communicate technical processes effectively to all levels in the organization including technical and non-technical audience, Senior Leadership etc.)
Master knowledge and experience with all facets of SDLC, Software stacks, tools, programs, open-source, and other platforms
Lead design/coding sessions, develop & implement solutions and contribute in the project management space, writing project charters, project plans, and Agile Scrum: Sprints, Backlogs, and Burn-downs
Be counted on as SME (Subject Matter Expert) in all areas of software engineering – design and implementation, project charter/planning, business analysis, system analysis, system architecture, system setup/configuration, code development, testing, application implementation, system administration, socialization of solution (training, marketing), business and technical troubleshooting, and business and technical documentation
Consistently demonstrate superior understanding of Database related activities – data schemas, database design, database creation, programming triggers, stored procedures, SQL functions, and code API SQL integration
Experience integrating with and/or implementing large enterprise systems (CRM, ERP) on premise or in the cloud
Analyze internal business user needs, desired outcomes and design, develop solutions with responsibility for delivering the software tools and applications with limited or no supervision
Excellent end-user (customer) support and service skills and committed to follow-through and resolution, performing diagnostics, taking corrective actions for hardware, software, and peripheral equipment as necessary
Maintain professional, healthy relationship with all fellow team members and management and demonstrate awareness of support issues/needs as they apply on a company-wide and business basis; adept in creating/maintaining documentation to support, enforce standards, policies, and processes

Preferred Qualifications:
15+ years of professional experience in Applications Development, Software engineering, Software development
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (Data, BI, or SharePoint)
Experience with GitHub, ShareGate, BaseCamp or other open-source tools and virtual farms (Windows Hyper-V or VMWare ESX)
Experience supporting accounting and HR systems within an A/E/C firm
