Exceptional visual design, layouting, image manipulation, and typographical skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to plan and scope design projects to work creatively around difficult business, technical, and/or resource constraints.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Keynote, PPT.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Experience working across multiple languages on international campaigns.

Job summary
The Amazon Music Creative Studio team is seeking a talented, passionate, expert Art Director to help us up-level and execute on big ideas for Growth Marketing initiatives across Acquisition, Engagement, Brand Awareness, and Product Marketing. This Art Director will create branded experiences that engage and motivate customers and develop creative concepts through building our style guides and toolkits. The role will be NYC-based in our new Brooklyn office but focused on achieving a global approach for final work that can be localized and viewed in more than 35 countries. This role will help define how the Amazon Music brand best drives its key messages, ideas, and builds relationship with customers across different geographies, cultures and tastes, and needs.

The Art Director should have deep knowledge and practical experience working from business briefs, across multiple conceptual directions and style guides at a top consumer-facing brand. This is a cross-functional role – the Art Director should be comfortable dealing with multiple stakeholders and partnership teams (across executive through to entry-level ranks) and with different types of agencies to get creative vision and final deliverables to their highest quality, most brand defining, best performing, and most efficient place. Because the work is so varied, and often fast-paced and high pressure, the person in this role should possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and be flexible to changing priorities.

Key job responsibilities

Hands-on art direction and creative execution – from concepting through production to delivery – to build holistic vision for marketing campaigns across multiple channels and customer touch-points.
Drive alignment around design decisions by soliciting, synthesizing and managing design feedback from multiple directions.
Maintain the highest design standards and inform the work with data wherever possible.
Communicate and partner with peers (Producers, Visual Designers, Copywriters, Product Designers, Engineers, and/or other design disciplines) to deliver tangible results.
Present to and collaborate with stakeholders (Marketers, Business Development Managers, Artist and Label Relations Managers, Music Curators, Social Newsroom Members, and the like) to understand their work and what materials might be best to leverage for project and Amazon Music brand, business, and customer goals.
Work with Music partner teams (such Echo, Alexa, Prime, Prime Video and Amazon Studios, Audible and the like) to understand their inputs and work to incorporate their needs into the final product.
Campaign Excellence – make decisions and drive adoption of mechanisms that elevate how we approach marketing communications. Raise the broader team’s awareness of what’s required to make great use of campaign opportunities.

About the team
The Creative Studio is an internal team within Amazon Music that organizes and consistently increases the quality and efficiency of creative work, as well as visualizing customer experiences and marketing communications to support business expansion and evolution of Amazon Music brand. We exist to conceptualize, produce, and scale compelling content (static graphics, motion and video assets, copywriting, audio assets, event experiences, merchandise, and beyond), working hand-in-hand with business partners in the Marketing, Music Curation, Artist & Label Relations, Editorial, and Partner teams. Our focus has been centralizing work to scale coverage and increase creative quality and expertise.

Passion for Music and deep interest and expertise in designing for Musicians, Artists, and within the music industry.
Ability to innovate and entrepreneurship.
Passion for marketing, advertising, localization, and technology.
Knowledge of UI, responsive design and usability principles and techniques for web and in-app experiences.
Curiosity and interest in voice (Echo, Alexa) and AI.
Experience with scaling campaign creative approaches in a globally distributed organization.
Experience managing marketing and editorial design projects.
Experience in designing for consumer-focused media and entertainment brands.
Experience working in audio, video, OOH, and digital signage.
Knowledge of Figma, Sketch.
(Masters) Degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Advertising, or similar field.
