Boeing Test and Evaluation team is currently looking for one Associate Software Database Engineer to join their team in Bengaluru, KA. Test & Evaluation engineers at Boeing make sure that products at the world’s largest aerospace company continue to meet the highest standards. From quality and reliability, to safety and performance, their expertise is vital to the concept, design and certifications of a wide variety of commercial and military systems.
Position Responsibilities:
This is a Database Development/Architect role. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
Design and develop solutions to modernize commercial/OpenSource database workloads to Cloud on containers platform/DBaaS/Self-Managed
Consultant for optimal design of database modernization, complex distributed deployments and make recommendations for optimal performance.
Provide technical definition in containerization of applications leveraging OpenShift and Kubernetes
Apply Cloud Container Re-platform and Refactor Modernization Architecture & Technology
Perform discovery & analysis of current landscape and design modernization approach
SME on various migration and modernization tools required for discovery, analysis, design and build
Develop reference implementation and/or demos database migration solutions
Provide consultation with respect to database logical/physical design and PL/SQL code to ensure best practices.
Manage the DB scripts for new and existing application modules in database instances.
Investigate application and database alert emails, and query regressions for performance issues.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education Bachelor’s and 5 to 8 years’ experience, Master’s degree with 4 to 7 years’ experience or PhD degree with experience.
5 – 7 years of project experience as database Specialist, Database modernization and Cloud technologies.
Experience using Windows/Linux operating system for software development
Strong written and oral interpersonal skills for creating and improving technical documents, and to effectively engage globally distributed engineering team.
Knowledge of the entire software development lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with commercial or OpenSource databases such as Oracle DB, SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache Casandra or MongoDB.
Experience in containerization of applications leveraging Kubernetes.
Experienced in key phases of IT workload modernization including discovery, analysis, design and deliver
SME in providing database architecture solutions for NFRs include HA (High Availability), Performance, DR (Disaster Recovery),
RTO (Recovery Time Objective), RPO (Recovery Point Objective), Security
Hands on experience in migrating and modernizing database environments from one platform to another.
Experience DevOps and Multi-cloud Management
Experience with shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python)
Typical Education & Experience:
