Role Summary/Purpose:
We are looking for a Cloud IAM Engineer to join our Cloud IAM Engineering team. This role will focus on the secured development, configurations, and compliance to regulatory requirements of the IAM services for the main Cloud Service Providers to control secured access to the Cloud. The role is centric to enabling Synchrony’s Cloud Strategy. You will be joining a talented team of Cloud engineers and working on leading edge technologies and practices.
Essential Responsibilities:
Work with application and product teams to identify AWS IAM requirements.
Engineering, development, testing, and delivery of IAM Cloud Solutions for AWS.
Participate in the agile development process by working closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, Scrum Masters and Team Members in a Scaled Agile framework.
Develop any required automation necessary to build, test, deploy, manage, or maintain IAM Cloud Solutions following DevOps pipeline processes.
Provide deep subject matter expertise for AWS Identity & Access Management services, entities, configuration, and best practices.
Evaluate existing IAM permission policies and adjust them as needed to enforce least privilege.
Work with Cloud Security Architects to ensure IAM solutions meet requirements, principle of least privileged is in place, and documentation is completed.
Apply technical knowledge, industry experience, expertise, and insights to contribute to the development and execution of an IAM Cloud Solution strategy.
Day-to-day management and maintenance of any AWS IAM configuration required to support business requirements, application integrations, workloads, regulatory compliance, and other cloud platform efforts or deliverables.
Collaborate across a wide audience of stakeholders regarding business objectives, priorities, and impact of proposed changes.
Contribute to high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, enterprise standards & procedures.
Collaborate with various groups and individuals to troubleshoot and resolve escalated production issues.
Partner with multiple teams to ensure appropriate solutions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system and process enhancements.
Represent IAM Cloud Solutions engineering team in project meetings and solution discussions.
Ensure effective security protection controls are in place using IAM Policy conditions, trusted entities, and all other applicable constraints.
Troubleshoot IAM authentication and authorization issues as they pertain to AWS IAM configurations, and coordinate troubleshooting with other IAM systems administrators as needed to drive to issue resolution.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Graduate degree in any discipline
Minimum 8+ years of overall experience in Technology
Minimum 3+ years of experience with AWS IAM Permissions, SAML Roles, Cross-Account Roles, and Service-Link Roles and applying access conditions and restrictions.
Minimum 3+ years of experience with developing AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible IaC templates.
Minimum 2+ years of experience working using BitBucket for source control.
Minimum 3+ years of experience with using Jenkins automation server for automating code deployments.
Minimum 3+ years of experience with Python and Powershell development for automating Cloud Configurations.
Minimum 2+ years of experience with Splunk HECs, developing knowledge objects, and the SPL in general.
Familiarity with SailPoint IdM.
Familiarity with the Okta cloud identity solution.
Familiarity with MS Active Directory.
Familiarity with dev environments to include Visual Studio Code, Sublime Text, or equivalent.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Adept and presenting complex topics, influencing, and executing with timely / actionable follow-through.

Desired Characteristics:
Prior work experience in a Credit Card/Banking/Fin Tech company.
Experience dealing with Cloud identity access management in a highly regulated environment.
Demonstrated implementation of complex and innovative solutions.
Demonstrated technical leadership capabilities amongst peers and within prior teams.
