You will carry out scheduled daily activities, extend compassion and care to children and their families, and ensure each child’s safety and well-being—both physical and emotional. In this role, you’ll help us maintain a warm, gentle, and nurturing learning environment for children, all while contributing to our goals of encouraging play, exploration, communication, and individualized child centered development.What You’ll Do: Provide conscientious care for children, monitoring at all times to stay aware of their physical and emotional needsKeep logs for parents to show daily activities of their childrenUse the Himama app to record child activitiesSupport Lead CCS with uploading individual child’s milestones in HiMama appAssist children with personal tasks, including but not limited to meals, diaper changes, and nap time routinesMaintain a regular schedule of meal, play, and nap timesSupport Lead CCS in implementing the daily routine and transitions throughout the dayEngage children in fun, educational activities, including time outdoorsSupport the Lead CCS with planned activities.Support children as needed during activitiesBe knowledgeable on developmentally appropriate practices to meet children where they are while continually helping each child develop at his/her own paceSupport the Lead CCS with documenting individual children’s developmentBecome familiar with and be able to use the HiMama milestone trackerBe familiar with the Montana Early Learning StandardsKeep open, proactive communication with parents on each child’s needs and challengesUse best practices as stated in XYLC team member handbookBuild a partnership with each family centered around your relationship with their childAssist the Lead CCS to meet families where they areUse best practices as stated in the XYLC team member handbookDocument all appropriate information and hold records confidentiallyAccident reportsWell child checks (daily)Create and support a safe, functional child care environmentBe knowledgeable on Montana State Child Care Licensing Rules and RegulationsExecute a cleaning routine that keeps all areas sanitary and safeSupport classroom routines that have been established by the Lead CCSCollaborate with other staff and the Director to support the overall learning centers’ goals to provide quality child care.Seek support when neededAttend L-10s, weekly meetings and XYLC retreatsDevelop and implement a professional development plan that is reviewed once a quarter.RequirementsWhat You’ll Bring to the Table: Must HavesHigh school diploma or GED2+ years of child care experienceStrong communication skills and passion for child developmentProper vaccinations, per state regulations (MMR if born in 1957 or later and TDAP)Infant, child, and adult CPR, First Aid, and Infant Safety Essentials certifications (or obtain within 30 days of hire)Comfortable with caring for and connecting with children of all ages and abilities, including infantsDesire and ability to engage in physical and educational play activities with childrenAbility to physically meet the demands of children on the go, including but not limited to; bend, stoop, kneel, stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 40 poundsAbility to pass federal and state criminal, sex offender and domestic watch list background checksComfort with technology and learning new toolsWilling to complete 16 hours of required training annuallyThe ability to multitask and a love of organizationExperience and ease leading and collaborating with coworkersNice-to-HavesBachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development or equivalent to including Family/Children Services and SupportLevel 4 or higher on the Montana Practitioner RegistryHas 2+ years of experience working with infants and toddlers in a group settingThe Deets: Start Date: ImmediatelyStatus: Full-time Non-Exempt (40 hours per week)Location: Bozeman, MTTeam: Learning CenterReports to: Director of XY Learning CenterDirect Reports: NoneCompensation & Benefits: Salary: $43,500Equity Program : All team members at XYPN are owners!
