Could you be a Children’s One to One Support / Intervenor at Sense?
Sense has a fantastic opportunity available, for a Children’s One to one support Intervenor in Bradley Stoke, Bristol. This is a permanent role, working 4 hours per week, usually on a Saturday 10.00am – 14.00pm however on occasions this may vary. Sense can offer a Childrens One to one support Intervenor £10.79 per hour. You will support a 9 year old with Norrie Disease to access the community. Whilst working alongside another intervenor your support will start from home.
We are looking for people to join our team of adaptable and motivated staff. With great communication skills, with the want to help make a difference to the lives of the people we support. This role is to support children of varying medical and communication needs, a job share arrangement or changes to the hours could therefore be considered in order to meet the needs of the people we support and the successful candidate. Part time hours are available in term time with additional hours offered in school holidays and as relief. The duties are varied and no two days will be the same. The people we support are individuals and they all treated as such. However, as a general guide, you may support with personal care needs, as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing.
What is an Intervenor? – An intervenor provides one-to-one support to children and young adults who have been born with sight and hearing impairments (congenital deafblindness), often with additional needs. As a One to One support intervenor you will support the individual to experience and join in the world around them as much as possible. Promoting the indiciduals personal and social development, encouraging independence and support their communication.

You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – we will provide you with a bespoke training package to enable you to become an excellent Intervenor.
Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
