Team Summary
Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa’s consulting division, serving Visa’s clients (including card issuers, acquirers, sellers and fintechs) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data science, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results. In Asia Pacific (AP), VCA has geographically focused teams and the Center of Excellence (COE) team which provides expertise in specific industry or functional verticals (Issuer portfolio optimization, Digital, Risk, Business Solutions and Acquiring). Having access to huge transactional data on Visa’s network, data science and data driven consulting is a core competency within VCA. The incumbent will be part of VCA India and South Asia’s Data Science team and will be responsible for Data Science backed consulting engagements with Visa’s clients in the geographic cluster. The team is engaged in providing comprehensive consulting solutions to Visa’s clients in the areas of data driven deep dives, solutions and models across areas of market strategy, product development, portfolio strategy, risk management, digital strategy, working closely with the multiple Visa teams in India and AP COE team based in Singapore.
What a Data Science Director does at Visa:
The Data Science Director is a key member of the Visa Analytics and Consulting (VCA) team. As a Data Science Director for India South Asia (IndSA), you will be accountable for leading the design, development & implementation, and delivery of data driven strategies and data science solutions for key Visa clients. You will collaborate with other team members in VCA, Business, and Technology teams across the organization, and relevant stakeholders in client’s organization to implement and deliver data driven solutions to clients.
In this role, you are expected to:Lead the Data Science Delivery team, managing the project delivery from conception to completion. This will involve managing the project scope, delivery timelines, resource bandwidth, and quality of output.Define detailed scope and methodology, creating and executing on the framework with appropriate data mining techniquesClearly communicate the findings and recommendations, drive deployment and implementation of analytics solutions, and track business value impactResearch industry metrics and business context and bring this context to bear in analysesActively seek out opportunities to innovate by using non-traditional data and new modeling techniques fit for purpose to the needs of our clientsEnsure all project documentation is up to date and maintain the highest levels of quality in deliverablesEnhance existing analytic techniques by promoting new methodology and best practices in analytics fieldHigh interaction with external clients, and manage internal and external stakeholdersOn a per-project basis, work on client site as required
This role reports to the Head of Data Science for the IndSA geographic cluster. This position will be based in Mumbai, India.

In this role, you will be a critical part of Visa’s data science team to serve its client and help them grow their business and manage it more efficiently by developing and driving data driven solutions. In the role, you will at the forefront of delivering the data driven solutions to clients, thus ensuring VCA meets it’s revenue targets.
Projects you will be a part of:
As part of the team, you will get opportunity to work on strategically important projects for clients.As an example, you might be working with an issuer client to assess opportunities across cardholder lifecycle, conduct gap assessment and determine strategy or provide best practice recommendation to the Bank.You will also be involved in client pitches, to bring strategic thinking in bringing together a compelling proposition to help Visa win clients and deepen partnerships.You will build models and data solutions and ensure clients find value to take action such as running marketing campaigns to drive payment card activation and usage, changing policies or processes, launching new products, opening new channels, driving cardholder persona based strategies, to name a few.
You will provide thought leadership and analytics advisory service to our clients in the face of changing regulation and market landscape impacting business revenue streams

Qualifications
What you will need:
We are looking to hire candidates that have already accumulated a variety of experience, you will be curious about the payments industry, results-driven and client-centric. As a candidate you should have both technical and business acumen:
Qualifications:Degree (Masters or Ph.D. would be an advantage) in Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, or engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum 10 years of analytical expertise in applying statistical solutions to business problems
Technical:Advanced level of expertise in one or more data analytics/programming tools such as Hadoop/SQL/Python/HiveProficiency in some of the following statistical and ML techniques: Linear & Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Boosting and Bagging techniques, Markov Chains, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks, Clustering, Principal Component Analysis, Factor analysis etc.Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and managing multiple analytics projects with diverse cross-functional stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to innovate solutions to solve business problemsTeam managerial experience
Business:Results oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigorGood business acumen with strong ability to solve business problems through data driven quantitative methodologies.Detail oriented, expected to ensure highest level of quality/rigor in reports & data analysisProven skills in translating analytics output to actionable recommendations, and deliveryExhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learnClient facing experience with strong communication skills
