Job Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking for an Android Automation Engineer to be part of VMware End User Computing business unit working in Workspace ONE mobile application teams. Workspace ONE digital workspace platform provides end point management for mobile workforce. We are passionate about delivering high quality and secure products.
You will take ownership of product quality, user experience, and security – every member of the team is responsible for delivering a best-in-class product that users love.
Evaluating and learning existing Android automation framework and providing automation solutions for building an end-to-end regression suite
Developing, executing and maintaining automation test scripts to meet software release deliverables, product testing requirements and other quality considerations
You will participate in code reviews and design reviews for building a robust and scalable suite that does not require rework.
Play an active role in debugging and addressing critical product issues. Our features are high impact and our product is critical to our customers, and every developer will cooperate with our support team to make sure our customer needs are met.
Maintaining well organized records of test results and generating historical analysis of test results
You will proactively work on identifying issues and exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Perform analysis of complex tasks or situations that required in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Personal growth is important to our team. We want our team to be constantly learning and staying up to date with the latest Android technologies, libraries, and frameworks. You will receive educational budget and time to continue to get better at your craft.

Position Requirements
Bachelors or masters from an accredited university in Computer Science or related field. Typically, 3+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree.
Strong knowledge of Android development environment.
Strong knowledge of Automation frameworks. object-oriented concepts with any OO languages (KOTLIN or JAVA).
Hands on experience with Espresso Automation Framework and Junit testing
Must have strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
Experience interacting with REST API for test data setup or testing
Experience working in a CI environment & Agile Environment
Knowledge of Mobile design principles, Material design guidelines, patterns, and best practices.
Contagious enthusiasm for building high-quality software products.
Experience working in Git, Stash, Jira and other productivity tools.
Strong analytical and communication skills, ability to effectively work with both technical and non-technical resources.
