Job Description : Job Summary
The Release Engineer will be responsible for performing software builds and packaging releases in an Agile, team-based setting. The duties of this position will include the design and development of builds, scripts, installation procedures, and the management of systems to facilitate the SDLC in a DevOps environment. This person will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the final release is up to organizational standards and interact with Development, QA, and process owners to create release candidates, assure SDLC adherence, and manage code deployments to various environments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for development and maintenance of software source code, builds, artifacts, and releases
Responsible for design, development, maintenance, and review of build and deployment scripts
Management of source control system and associated tools
Assist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team
Work closely with engineering professionals within the company to maintain hardware and software needed for projects to be completed efficiently
Work with cross-functional teams to architect and build cloud-based solutions following industry best practices
Ability to work in an Agile, team-based setting, adapting to changes in process/priorities/technologies
Ability to work autonomously to complete assigned tasks
Experience
Education
BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or equivalent experience/certifications
Minimum Qualifications
2-4 years of experience in development with release experience
Skills/Knowledge
Experience using source control such as TFSGIT
Experience with Agile Life-cycle Management such as VersionOneJIRA
Experience using infrastructure-as-code on public clouds AWSAzure
Experience designing automated deployments to the public cloud
Experience working in a DevOpsDevSecOps environment
Experience using Build Automation Tools such as Jenkins
Experience working in an AgileSCRUM environment
Extensive experience with scripting to automate workflows and deployments
Experience working with scripting languages including (PowerShell, Perl, UNIX Shell)
Familiarity with Linux/Windows administration
Knowledge of healthcare IT is a plus
