The opportunity

We’re looking for candidates with strong expertise in big data engineering and architecture space, having proven delivery capability. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm as well as a part of a growing Data and Analytics team.

The Lead Technical Architect will work with in the CTP Trusted Data Fabric platform engineering, assisting the Chief Architect to create a global data platform which embodies leading edge data and information management capabilities and practices.

Your key responsibilities

Designs technical architecture to address business requirements.
Defines the infrastructure for the design and integration of new and existing systems.
Acts as an intermediary between the business and technical community to understand business requirements, define the technical architecture required and support development & engineering teams with implementation.
Provides innovative and practical designs that account for the end-to-end solution of a system that is in line with the business objectives
Stays up to date with changes in software and technology most relevant to EY and promotes the use of new solutions and emerging technologies to maximize efficiency, reliability and value
Works across multiple technical architecture projects with varied stakeholders, providing technical leadership and advisory services to the business by anticipating needs and potential objections and contributing to project management activities
Leads the relationships with development teams to ensure successful blueprinting and implementation
Mentors and coaches members of the team and reviews data architecture across workstreams
Leads on tool evaluation efforts including the definition of evaluation criteria, tool identification and the actual evaluation
Drives adherence to development standards to promote optimization and consistency (including code modularization and reuse)
Collaborate with various stakeholders like DevOps, QA, InfoSec etc to ensure all aspects of solution and Infrastructure architecture are covered

Skills and attributes for success

Expert in Big Data technologies such as Microsoft Big Data stack, Synapse, Spark, Azure Data Lake Store, Kafka, Kubernetes, API management, Databricks
Rich experience in .Net core, Active Directory and Angular framework
Extensive knowledge in Azure services
Has an expert understanding of technical architecture and can apply this in the development of new technical architecture systems
Possesses deep knowledge on technical architecture spanning across aspects of each system from a business and a technical viewpoint
Leadership capability and proven ability to manage difficult stakeholders
Managed the end-to-end lifecycles of a technical architecture project
Azure Solution Architect certified (preferred)

To qualify for the role, you must have

Be a computer science graduate or equivalent with 15 + years of industry experience
Have working experience in an Agile base delivery methodology (Preferable)
Flexible and proactive/self-motivated working style with strong personal ownership of problem resolution.
Excellent communicator (written and verbal formal and informal).
Participate in all aspects of Big Data solution delivery life cycle including analysis, design, development, testing, production deployment, and support.
Extensive technical architecture experience on Azure services
