Job Summary
Responsible for setting up and communicating overall Controls and IoT vision, strategy, and message to drive a cohesive and centralized IoT architecture for the Adhesive businesses. Collaborates closely with the four Adhesive Divisions to meet their Strategic objectives. Identify industry trends and customer needs and translate into end-to-end IoT solutions that solve real business needs. Bridges gaps between commercial organization and operations by translating business objectives into product requirements.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for the development of a Controls and IoT vision and strategy aligned to the Adhesive Divisions.
Responsible for the development of a suite of end-to-end IoT solutions in collaboration with the commercial teams
Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product definition and positioning.
Support the Portfolio Managers in developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
Analyze, seek and build alliances with potential external partners to help and drive new controls and IoT developments.
Understands competitive landscape and product lines and drives initiatives to maintain market leadership position
Defines value proposition and business models with commercial teams and Marketing
Provides primary governance to controls definition process and all related definition documents including but not limited to the “ADS Style Guide”.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or information technology and 10 years relevant experience or bachelor’s degree with 15 years’ experience
Technical expertise. IoT solutions run the technical gambit. An IoT architect has the expertise in several key IoT technology spaces including embedded systems, network topologies, transport protocols, cloud computing, stream processing, data management, analytics, security, identity management and app dev.
Integration expertise. The ability to integrate the disparate technologies listed above is essential. Can explain the integration and I/O flow throughout the entire solution.
Organizational Versatility. An IoT architect is someone who has enough versatility that can hold a conversation no matter whether they are interfacing with a business exec, operational engineer, or an IT expert. As IoT architect, you will have to collaborate with many parts of the organizations that are in the path of the adoption process, understand their function, speak their language and — most importantly — help them understand how IoT will impact them and how it applies to their job.
Product development experience
Strong business acumen and the ability to effectively present the architecture, suite of IoT solutions and its products and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.
Excellent communication skills with a strong customer service, action-orientation required.
Able to adapt effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment essential.
Proficient in the following applications: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, SAP, Data analytics

Ability to listen to others, communicate effectively and provide leadership
Ability to work in highly technical multi-disciplinary settings
