SUMMARY
Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) Delivery is responsible for running customer landscapes and operates on follow the sun model collaborating with our global team. We operate a variety of important and business critical SAP systems and applications embedded in an international delivery approach. We are responsible to build and operate the customer systems at ECS. It is a Private Cloud Offering from SAP powered by SAP HANA and is enabling the Customers Journey to Cloud through ECS Service Portfolio. As part of ECS Delivery Technical Operations, the Database Services Team is responsible for all databases. Beside project delivery and day to day administration we are part of strategic pilot projects for new technologies as reference for other customers. Our team provides stable operational support for customer database landscapes for their critical business systems. For the Delivery Center in Bangalore, India, we are looking for a Senior IT Technology Consultant as Database expert with a strong technical background for supporting critical projects & administration in the Managed Cloud Delivery environment.
ROLE:
You will be responsible to drive continuous improvement in order to increase operational efficiency and system availability. Infrastructure landscape re-architecture and new technology adoption is another important aspect. Global thinking and a strong customer focus are essential within the new Enterprise Cloud Services program. Your role will be Senior Database Administrator driving critical topics related to Incident Management, Problem Management, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Backup & Restore.
ROLE REQUIREMENT:
Minimum 10 years work experience as Database Administrator in Global Operations team primarily on SAP HANA and ASE Database Platforms.Experience in DB installation, upgrade, planning, setup and implementation.Expert in troubleshooting and performing in-depth root cause analysis.Hands-on experience in both scale-up and scale-out HANA systems.Strong technical knowledge in Backup and recovery strategies, System Copies, High Availability and disaster recovery scenarios, Replication knowledge is must.Knowledge in performance troubleshooting and optimization.Well organized, willingness to learn and own the topics and share the knowledge with the team.Willingness to take on call duty/Weekend tasks.Capable of working in international team environment and driving innovation topics.
Preferable but not mandatory:
Good OS and Scripting knowledge.SAP Basis knowledge.Experience of working in Public Cloud Domains like Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP.PMP and ITIL framework
