About the Role
Roll up your sleeves and climb on board if you’re ready to be our Lead Android Engineer. In this role, you will be an integral player in the GoPay team based in Bangalore, India. With knowledge of the general mobile landscape, current user preferences and trends, and emerging technologies in the mobile engineering field, you will work alongside the product management team and cross-functional teams (Product Engineer, DevOps, Data, UX, QA) to improve overall application performance, code structure, and develop robust, well-designed software systems. Most importantly, your efforts will directly ensure our users get quality care and a seamless experience with our products & services.
What You Will Do
Mentor a team of highly talented and motivated engineers
Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
Partner with other cross-functional teams to define and execute the feature roadmap, and with back-end engineering teams to build robust, well-designed API contracts
Continuously improve code quality, product execution, automatization and customer delight
What You Will Need
At least have 6 years of experience in Android development, with strong knowledge using Kotlin
Strong sense of ownership and passion for crafting delightful customer experiences
Commitment to writing understandable, maintainable, and reusable software
Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies within the mobile engineering field
Ability to write product specifications and actively participate in the planning phase
Experience with performance, memory tuning with tools, and troubleshoot fuzzy problems across systems
Passion for learning new things and solving challenging engineering problems
Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
