Queensland Rail is looking for an experienced Risk Manager who shares our passion for connecting communities through rail.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has presented an unprecedented challenge for Queensland Rail and the public transport sector, we have exciting plans for the future. There are massive changes planned across this next decade that require the support of a high functioning Risk Management Team. We will be focused on implementing, developing and monitoring appropriate risk management strategies to safely achieve critical business outcomes.
Reporting to Senior Manager Risk, Compliance and Insurance you will provide expert advice across Queensland Rail’s Enabling Functions to lead and manage the integration of a positive risk culture by advising and assisting the business managers to develop, implement and monitor appropriate risk management and assurance strategies and practices to achieve safety, customer, community and commercial outcomes.
As an expert in your field, you will also have developed strong commercial acumen and an ability to build successful partnerships with key stakeholders. This role is all encompassing and will require a hands-on approach to the day-to-day duties and responsibilities in order to deliver outcomes.
Our ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a strategic thinker and able to deliver solutions in the risk space.
Key responsibilities will include:
Proactively support the implementation of Queensland Rail’s overall risk management strategy, maturity and the supporting frameworks, programs, policies and plans.
Assist the senior leadership teams to report to the Board and Executive Leadership Team on risk management performance and emerging risks identified within the Enabling Functions.
Position Description
We are looking for candidates who have:
Extensive experience in implementing risk management techniques across a large and complex organisation. Experience in quantitative risk analysis will be highly regarded.
The ability to work as part of a senior, professional risk team in implementing appropriate risk frameworks, programs and procedures together with advanced conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
A strong knowledge of contemporary enterprise risk management and assurance principles and practices as they apply to large, complex organisations.
Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification in some form of Risk Management would be advantageous
Possession of relevant tertiary qualification/s would be highly regarded
