Job Description : Mandatory Qualifications/Other Requirements:

A degree in social work, human services, social welfare, psychology or behavioural science from a recognised tertiary institution or possession of a degree in accordance with the Child Safety Officer Qualification Requirements.
Extensive experience in the provision of domestic and family violence intervention.
The possession of a ‘C’ class driver’s licence and ability to undertake intrastate travel to meet identified service delivery need.
Employees must be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 in accordance with the department’s COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements. You must provide one of the following types of evidence for the hiring manager to sight before an offer of employment will be made:

o written confirmation of COVID-19 vaccination provided as part of the vaccination process, such as a record of vaccine cardo vaccination information displayed on the Check in QLD app o a COVID-19 digital certificate o your immunisation history statement o an International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate for overseas travel.

Desirable Qualifications/Requirements:

Working knowledge of the Safe & Together model, a child-centred model that assists child protection practitioners be domestic and family violence informed.- Frontline child protection experience.

The Practice Leader (Domestic and Family Violence) key responsibilities are:

Provide strategic, culturally informed and evidence-based advice to Child Safety staff and other relevant stakeholders on domestic and family violence, in the context of complex practice matters.
Analyse performance data to identify trends and issues, consider systemic issues and the relationship between multiple performance measures in terms of the impact on service to clients.
Deliver a program of work with a focus on improving the quality of the casework and outcomes for children and young people in the child protection system, particularly those impacted by domestic and family violence.
Lead the development of capability across the state in areas of portfolio responsibility (domestic and family violence) through a range of strategies, such as training, communities of practice, mentoring and coaching of relevant staff to embed domestic and family violence informed child protection practice.
Provide mentoring and support to Domestic and Family Violence Child Protection Practitioners across the state.
Implement quality assurance mechanisms that support the monitoring and continuous improvement of services to children, young people, their families and carers, with a focus on domestic and family violence.
Develop enduring and productive service delivery partnerships to support service delivery outcomes, enhance cross-sectoral participation, training and development, and statewide delivery and coordination of child protection services.
Establish and maintain systems, practices and standards to ensure effective coordination and delivery of services.
Manage multiple projects including development and implementation as part of the ongoing reform and renewal agenda.
Contribute to the embedding of the Strengthening Families Protecting Children Framework for Practice across the state, with particular reference to developing the capability of staff in strengths-based practice and appreciative inquiry to assist in the delivery of quality advice and services about domestic and family violence and the impacts in the child protection context.
