Job Description : The Regional Solutions program is part of Mastercard Markets and Localization team, responsible for driving the identification of new opportunities across different markets and building bespoke solutions and integrating with the wider Mastercard products and services.

Under the Regional Solutions umbrella we work with multiple markets across the globe providing technology guidance and building solutions to address market needs not met by existing MA global products. The program currently supports multiple Mobile Wallet solutions across Middle East and Africa, in addition to supporting services in Asia-Pacific and Americas.

We are looking for a passionate, innovative and highly skilled architect with proven experience in conceptualizing and architecting FinTech solutions (preferably in the Payments domain) while leveraging Mastercard’s technological capabilities to solve partner business problems, create new propositions, influencing and communicating far reaching architectural and strategic technology decisions.

As a Principal Architect at Mastercard, you will be the Technology driving force within the program and will be responsible expected to perform the following general duties:

Work with business/product owners to architect and deliver on new services to introduce new capabilities and user journeys
Drive the architectural design, including dependent services, service interactions, and policies
Take ownership to improve the customer experience of an entire set of services/applications sold as products or bundled services
Take a business-value driven approach to all technology decisions while driving adoption of new technologies and capabilities within the program
Lead by example with hands-on approaches to demonstrate engineering excellence

All About You

Education

Bachelor or Master’s degree in the area of Computer Science or equivalent

Expertise

Architecture and Solutioning
Has experience leading the solutioning and architecture of enterprise Fintech solutions
Has experience designing/implementing Cloud-native solutions – using Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless as well as migrating existing enterprise solutions to Public Cloud – AWS / Azure
Has skills to design and implement domain-driven architecture principles and implement API-first solutions
Has experience designing and implementing solutions focusing on the non-functional concerns – Performance, Scalability, Availability, Extensibility, Supportability, Usability and various SLA which are part of architecture and design
Hands on expertise in developing data analytics would be beneficial
Should have the ability to evaluate between various open source and cloud services available in azure and propose the relevant one for the architecture.
Expertise in Data governance and security is a must.
Should have done estimation, sizing of project and have a working understanding of Cloud costing and optimization
Evangelizing advanced technology and creating Point-of-View
Technology & Engineering Practices
Has ability to write secure code in one or more languages/frameworks (e.g. Java(Spring Boot), Python etc) and familiar with secure coding and vulnerabilities
Has skills to engage engineers across Technology organization to promote standard software patterns and reuse of common libraries and services
DevSecOps
Ability to work both at the proposal and ideation level and also trouble-shooting critical production issues.
Leverages expert understanding of DevSecOps best practices to guide developers and implement fully automated software lifecycle – from build to deploy to monitor to self-heal implementing security and governance throughout
Has skills to perform points of failure analysis and architect ‘always-on’ solutions by building resiliency architecture (active/active/active) allowing seamless failovers between availability zones
Leadership & Communication
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Has skills to succinctly articulate architecture patterns of complex systems, with business and technical implications, to executive and customer stakeholders
Has experience in leading and coaching teams to perform software planning and estimation for large scale complex programs
Enjoys collaborating with a team while working independently towards a goal.
Business Domain – Fintech
Has experience working in the Fintech domain
Experience in the Payments space would be an added advantage
COVID-19 Considerations
