The hiring team are responsible for building the strategic R&A Wholesale Credit Risk platform used for internal risk management and regulatory reporting across Barclays International.
The successful candidate will be a development team member within the Project JUNO agile team, participating in all aspects of the development process, including regular interaction with Product owner, user story analysis, technical design, implementation, code-reviews, testing, production deployment, and support.
The successful candidate is rewarded with the opportunity to take ownership of end to end business delivery, and to shape a next generation Wholesale credit model platform.
What will you be doing?
Key specific accountabilities.
Understanding the overall purpose of the project and contribute in design, development, testing and maintenance of business objects related components.
Develop, support and improve existing business Objects systems including both Universe and Reports.
Involvement in troubleshooting, performance checks of the reports, analysing and rectifying issues within reports and data.
Involve in test phases and work towards early resolution of defects and ensuring permanent fix.
Design, Develop and Implement Change Requests (CR) from Business
Adherence to Barclays policies and standards
Support live implementation, Provide warranty support, Service transition, BAU support.
Excellent communication and consulting skills Ability to work independently.
Working closely with global development team members in other regions, participating in and contributing to technical discussions.
Responding promptly to requests from the RTB support team in order to resolve user queries and handle technical issues that are out of scope for the support staff.
Making technical updates to reduce the manual support overhead for the system.
Working with BAs and Team Leads to understand the functional scope of project work, questioning decisions and collaborating with end-users to ensure that business needs are met on a timely basis.
Following good processes and practices, as defined by the team standards; ensuring that documentation is complete, comprehensive and signed off.
Implement and test technical solutions from specifications to both new and existing systems.
Ensuring code written meets the predefined company and department standards
Liaising with a test team to provide support during SIT, QA and UAT test phases
Diagnosis and resolution of defects found during SIT, QA and UAT test phases
Supporting regression testing.
Following established process and practices with regards to source code management and audit controls.
Writing release plans and coordinating release walkthroughs with the environment managers and RTB teams.
Acting as a point of contact for support team, investigating and resolving issues found in production following minor releases.
Providing on-call support for minor releases.
What we’re looking for:
Very strong development experience with SAP Business Objects 4.1 tools including IDT, UDT, WebI, Rich Client, Live-Office.
Strong Knowledge in Business Objects Universe Designer & Information Designer. Retrieving data using Universes, Personal data files, Stored procedures, Free hand SQL methods.
SAP Business Objects Reporting and Data Visualization experience using Web Intelligence and Rich Client.
Should have used Derived tables, Universe restrictions, and Aggregate_Awareness features in Designer.
Strong Knowledge in Writing SQL and T SQL using MS SQL Server or any other database.
Worked extensively with variables, parameters, sets, custom hierarchies, lovs & prompts.
Experience usage of Data Blending for joining Multiple Data Sources.
Good understanding of User Security in Business Objects any additional knowledge on SAP BO CMC is Plus.
Experience with migrating reports.
Knowledge of standard testing practices for SAP BO Projects.
Experience in tuning and enhancing universes with SQL Queries for the Report performance.
Business intelligence experience working with large data sets and data warehouses.
General understanding of the full Agile methodologies.
Hands on experience with Git or other source code control tools.
Skills that will help you in the role:
A degree in engineering, computer science or a quantitative discipline e.g. statistics, physics or mathematics preferred.
IB experience advantageous but not a pre-requisite.
Development Experience in SAP Business Objects Skills: Universe Development, WebI Reports development
Willingness to broaden skill sets and learn a secondary technology where necessary.
Knowledge of AWS or any other cloud technologies advantageous, but not a pre-requisite.
Analytical skills; ability to investigate and resolve issues in a high-pressured environment.
Beneficial: General understanding of the finance markets and environment
