A practice nurse who is invested in going above and beyond by delivering emotionally intelligent customer service and patient care that aligns with our culture and values of creating centres of excellence in general practice.So, what are the core responsibilities?The core purpose of your role is to ensure the patient is supported throughout their journey with Optimum Med Health Clinic. You need to balance your clinical knowledge and passion for patient centred care with managing the patient flow by conducting Pre and Post Consults, emergency triage so that each patient receives seamless and supportive care with a focus on health outcomes.Core Responsibility: Under the direction of the practice principal, medical practitioners and practice manager, the responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:Clinical duties – triage/ first assistance with emergency proceduresImmunisations – infant, children and adults and medication administrationsAssistance with minor procedures – excisions and circumcisions, wound closure, Implanon removal, and suture removalDiagnostic duties – blood collection, ECG, SpirometryAcute assessment of sick patientsHazardous waste management/infection controlRecalls patients – pathology results, population health and appointment remindersGuide patients through pre-consultation processAssists patients through the post consultation process, including payments and patient app on-boardingManage the workflow of the Living Room (Waiting area) including welcoming patients, telephone inquiries and general administrative tasksBe the first point of call for patients’ support and inquiryGeneral support for the multidisciplinary clinical teamKnowledge in triage in patients’ needsSupport marketing and workshop strategies within the clinicAssist in building community relationshipsEnsures sterilization and maintenance of clinical equipmentStock controlSELECTION CRITERIA: Required skillsGood reception skills and delivers excellent customer service skills to all patients and HCPs of the practiceExcellent interpersonal and communication skills across all ages and social groupsExperience in all aspects of chronic disease managementPossess a sound understanding of medical billing and the Medicare Benefits Schedule.Current knowledge of immunisation schedules, diabetes management, asthma management, enhanced primary care items, infection control, CPR and emergency resuscitation techniques.Demonstrated understanding of the general practice and interest in patient education and health promotionDemonstrated care plans and health assessment experienceProactive, takes initiative and motivatedA flexible and willing attitudeAdaptable, practical and empatheticPreferred skillsMinimum of at least 3 years’ experience as Practice Nurse in general practice settingAt least 2 years’ experience with assisting minor surgeries in general practice settingExperience with blood collectionDemonstrated sold IT skills – ability to effectively manage patient bookings, recall, reminders and clinical records within practice software (Best Practice), and ability to resolve minor IT technical issues face by DoctorsAbility to produce, analyse and utilize clinical data (using clinical audit tools e.g. Pen CAT) to enhance service development and quality improvement initiatives, and achieve quality patient health outcomesMinimum 3 years’ experience with administrative job and knowledge on workers compensation processExcellent problem solving and negotiation skills and the ability to managing complaints and following processes in resolving difficult or complex issuesExperience with medical practice accreditation processExcellent organizational skills with high level of attention to detailsQUALIFICATIONS: Registered NurseCurrent Nurse Registration with Nursing Midwifery Board of AustraliaCurrent Professional IndemnityCurrent Registration with AHPRACurrent Employee Working with Children CheckCurrent National Police CheckMember of relevant professional organisation (APNA)Immunisation CertificateBlood Collection CertificateApplication Deadline: 10/03/2022Job Types: Full-time, Fixed termSalary: $65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per yearBenefits:Employee mentoring programExtended annual leaveProfessional development assistanceVisa sponsorshipSchedule:8 hour shiftMorning shiftWeekend availabilitySupplementary Pay:Annual bonusOvertime payCOVID-19 considerations:We require everyone who enters our premises to scan the QR Code and encourage wears a mask.
