As an Engineer, you will begin to shift from learning and assisting to fully contributing to solving complex technical problems while growing your analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts. Key Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
As a Java/web application development engineer, the incumbent will be working in the developing Engineering applications that are used by Caterpillar employees to flash the application onto Engine and Machine systems in the factory. Incumbent’s primary responsibility is Engineering application development used by applications team to support Caterpillar Engineers by using Enterprise Java, J2EE, Springboot with C#/.Net while using SQL for the database. The incumbent will be developing application by leveraging his team for the specification & requirements provided by the technical lead/architect. The incumbent will be updating software using configuration management tools such as GIT. The scope of work will include application development and unit testing while upholding coding standards. Caterpillar encourages innovation and a can-do attitude to delight the customers.
Required skills :
Advanced proficiency in Java 8 or above
Advanced experience in Spring framework, Spring Boot, Java Application Frameworks etc
Experience with Tomcat 8.x or above
Experience in Message Queues/Azure Topic
Oracle 12 writing SQL and Stored Procedures
Hibernate
Web UI programming (Angular 8 +, JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS, JSTL)
Jersey/Jackson/OAuth2 Restful Web services
M/V/C and Chain of Responsibility design patterns
Should have strong interest/passion in doing hands on technical development . Worked on implementing complex solutions.
Worked on complex Enterprise applications – involving webservices, message queues, Mobile UI’s, Java Script, Java Application Frameworks etc – demonstrating role in addressing the complexity.
Who has spent good amount of time in support/debugging type activities, so they have good analytical background.
Who can demonstrate delivering quality application – testing skills.
Who can work with the team (onsite/offsite) and also who can work independently (independently means – one who can take responsibility to deliver solutions without much inputs/assistance from others in the team. Who can seek inputs from right source and deliver)
Should be flexible to work late nights for ongoing development issues

Apache Commons libraries
Agile methodology

Excellent time management and communication skills
Experience in Azure DevOps – VSTS

Design, build, test, and support J2EE applications
Identify and analyze user requirements
Write well-designed, efficient code
Complete design & code reviews of the application code developed
