Job Description
The Research and Innovation team will engage with global academic research programs, as well as government, regulatory and standards bodies, to develop security analytics technology and capabilities to future proof-Allstate’s platforms. The team will research novel solutions, publish high quality research at international conferences and journals, develop future products and enable evidence-based decisions on the strategic direction of current and future security solutions.
As a Senior Research and Development Scientist in Security Analytics, you’ll lead the development of modelling solutions for the aggregation and analysis of security data. You will help establish and lead engagement with international university and strategic partner collaborations. You will design mission-led research programs to help Allstate Information Security make evidence-based decisions on future and emerging technologies. You will help develop the next generation of security analytics capabilities and talent within Allstate. This role requires the ability to understand/ synthesize state-of-the-art research in high performance and distributive computing methods for batch, online, descriptive and predictive statistical modelling, such as time-series analysis, machine learning, and probabilistic techniques.
Job Responsibilities
You will help lead the research and development of engineering solutions in large scale distributed statistical modelling for security analytics using frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop etc.
You will help establish and lead a formalized data lifecycle in security analytics for a research and innovation lab
You will be an active member of Research and Innovation team, developing Proof-of-Concept implementations and industry-leading security analytics solutions
You will actively assess existing analytics solutions, identifying novel capabilities and make evidence-based recommendations for adoption
Provide assistance to engineer and implement new analytics tools to feed our continuous innovation process
Understand state-of-the-art and emerging methodologies in analytics
You will take an active lead in engaging with university research programs, assist with preparing research proposals and mentoring PhD/masters students
Develop high quality research material for publication at major international conferences and journals
You will develop internal training programs for Allstate in security analytics and emerging technologies
Ability to drive and communicate the adoption new security analytics capabilities and solutions within the organization
Mentor and manage the work and development of junior scientists
Serve as the interface to threat, vulnerability, and risk management teams to ensure strategic alignment and knowledge and technology transfer
Assist security-based projects throughout Allstate
Work alongside with the Senior Data Scientists and Engineers/ Architects/Risk Management Professionals, and assist in Proof of Concepts and implementation of security analytics solutions
