About Team: Market Mechanics
Market Mechanic’s primary responsibilities are the underlying algorithms that make the C2FO marketplace operate. This includes the evaluation of offers placed in the C2FO market, adjustments, statistics, and clearing of invoices.
About the position:
The Senior Backend / API Engineer works in the core domain of our main product. They create new systems and services to support our product offerings. They help scale the system for the billion-plus invoices that flow through it each day. They make our system more reactive and event-driven with Kafka and Scala. It is not expected that any single candidate would have the expertise across all these areas. We are building teams, not a collection of perfectly formed individuals.
Designation: Senior Backend / API Engineer – Platform
Experience:5+ yrs
Location: Noida
Essential Duties:
Design, build and maintain APIs, services, and systems for the Early Pay platform.
Debug productions issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
Improve our documentation and document design decisions and rationale.
Work with engineers across the company to build new features at a large scale.
Give and receive feedback on your team’s code on GitHub.
Mentor, pair with and support the growth of other engineers.
Apply good coding practices to ensure our codebase is readable, secure, and scalable.
Collaborate with others across the company, including Product, DevOps, and operational stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
Has 5+ years of experience as a software developer
Bachelor’s or higher degree or its equivalent
RESTful or GraphQL APIs
Extensive experience with at least one of Scala or other JVM languages, GoLang, NodeJS.
Relational database PostgreSQL, MySQL.
AWS or GCP
Preferred Qualifications:
Enjoy and have experience building APIs and their accompanying documentation.
Take pride in working on projects to successful completion involving a wide variety of technologies and systems.
Concerned with the success of the team, their teammates, and themselves.
Driven to gain a deeper understanding of the problem space and the why of the team’s work.
Understanding of the usefulness of testing, code quality, and continuous integration.
Vigilant in identifying tech debt and always improving how we do things.
Persistent in the face of roadblocks; collaborating with and engaging others as necessary.
A self-motivated developer who can work independently.
Detail-oriented with a meticulous approach to problem-solving.
Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
Docker and Kubernetes.
Akka, Akka Streams, Apache Kafka Streams.
