Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Database Engineer for Db2. Knowledge of Mongo will be a plus point.

Specialized Database Products is a team within Enterprise Database Management (EDM) that is responsible for supporting critical database platforms and integrating new database technologies and platforms into the Wells Fargo ecosystem.

The Database Senior Engineer position, specifically with expertise in design, administration, high availability, and operational support experience with the DB2 and Mongo platform will join a growing and high energy team supporting enterprise Customers. As a Db2/Mongo Database Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for providing the highest technical expertise for the engineering, planning, design, implementation, upgrade, patching, capacity planning, and day to day operations for the distributed platform including technical communications with the vendor. This role will also provide oversight, mentoring, and leadership to less experienced on-shore and off-shore staff. The successful candidate must be comfortable working on multiple dynamic projects simultaneously, collaborating with database architects, principal engineers, application teams, information security teams, and leadership at all levels of the organization. Candidate should be familiar with horizontally scalable, distributed system that balances data and queries across a cluster of cloud, hybrid-cloud, or on-premises instances for maximum performance, concurrency, and availability.

In this role, you will:
Lead or participate in database management activities including designing highly complex logical and physical databases
Lead highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts
Perform the planning, research, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases
Design and implement security solutions including Center for Internet Security benchmarks and auditing
Design and certify next generation database technologies
Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction
Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology
Develop management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Ability to see the big picture and influence future direction in alignment with Enterprise Database Management Engineering and enterprise goals.
Automation – Streamline repeatable build and operational support practices that scale with technology changes.
Develop database high availability and replication solutions to meet the requirements of high tier applications.
Gain technical depth and breadth with new features, products and tools to serve as a subject matter expert for the EDM organization.
Drive adoption of standard operational practices to deliver highly available solutions.
Participation with an on-call DBA rotation.
Ability to take a lead role in projects that have a broad impact.
Strong Customer Service Focus.
Required Qualifications, International:
Experience in Database Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
7+ years of database design and administration experience.
5+ years of DB2 experience.
Knowledge of Mongo and Informix

Monitor databases regularly to check for any errors such as existing locks and failed updates.
Oversee utilization of data and log files.
Manage database compliances and remediate.
Manage db2HADR and cluster services like VCS, TSA.
Perform encryption procedures for databases both transit and data at rest.
Ability to write scripts to automate process and enhancements.
Patching MongoDB instances to latest level.
Build and managing large shard clusters with replication sets.
Trouble shooting /performance tuning.
Database backups, restore and point-in-time recovery.
Ops Manager installations, configurations, monitoring and patching.
Recovery from Ops Manager and analyzing performance metrics.
Knowledge on SAN and File system level backups.
Ensure that the databases achieve maximum performance and availability.
Design indexing strategies, Create roles and users and set their permissions.
Experience in LDAP and Kerberos and x509 certificates authentications and authorization.
On-Call technical support to minimize the impact of system disruptions.
Flexible in availability and good coordination with onsite team.
