Job Purpose

As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will lead in financial planning and reporting, provide financial analysis and commercial insight and drive strategic decision making to maximise financial contribution and/or optimise impact.

Main Accountabilities
The Senior Finance Business Partner’s key accountabilities will be to:

Lead development and provision of strategic and financial decision support to drive strong financial and commercial performance in assigned teams

Lead the development and delivery of effective reporting and profitability analysis

Lead design, development and review of complex business modelling to inform financial planning and investment decisions

Act as the expert finance lead on financial planning and performance management processes for assigned teams

Act as the Lead Business Partner on complex financial modelling and share best practice across the broader Finance Team

Develop and lead strategic financial planning processes, provide direction, challenge and review for the business area and produce analytical inputs and presentation for Directors

Partner with and influence the business areas in developing their strategy and appraise business cases for investment spend to ensure best value for money

Work with central finance to ensure operation of an effective internal control framework so statutory accounting, tax and legal requirements are fulfilled

Develop the financial acumen of budget holders through constructive dialogue and discussion

Person Profile
Experience

Qualified accountant

Experience leading complex financial planning processes and producing consolidated financial modelling, reporting and analysis for senior stakeholders

Advanced business modelling skills (e.g. familiarity with building and using product and/or marketing channel profitability models to derive comparative ROI metrics such as NPV, IR and payback periods)

Experience of and ability to understand the inter-relationships between different IT systems, complex processes running across multiple teams and the end-to-end production of management accounts

Strong Microsoft Office skills with advanced Excel skills

Abilities

Ability to produce modelling to underpin investment decisions and to inform financial forecasting, budgeting and long term financial planning

Ability to identify financial issues as they arise, assess their likely impact and devise appropriate responses

Ability to develop awareness of broader commercial issues facing the sector and to understand the wider competitive and market environment

Remote Working:
The majority of SCUK employees are currently working remotely within the UK in line with UK Government guidance. Commencing July 2021 we will transition to flexible and hybrid ways of working (i.e. a mixture of remote/home and office-based working) as social distancing restrictions ease.
