Role Description
Role Description: Software Developer

The Ideal candidate will be responsible for database administration across various databases in cloud. Databases could be installed on Cloud VN instances/managed services provided by Cloud service provider.

Role and responsibilities

Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
Develop processes for optimizing database security.
Set and maintain database standards.
Manage database access.
Performance tuning of database systems.
Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
Responsible for design, develop, test, implement and maintain new and existing databases.
Create management methods and systems to access efficiently to information stored in databases
Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements.
Build appropriate and useful reporting deliverables.
Develop procedures and scripts for data migration.
Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements

Technical skills requirements

The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in,

2+ years of managing data bases
2+ years of cloud DBA experience
Provisioning Oracle, Sqlserver, Postgresql instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations.
Managing performance, security, and availability of databases.
Preparing documentations and specifications.
Linux / WIndows system administration fundamentals.
Understanding of database’s underlying storage engines
Experience with Encryption/decryption
Good understanding on DB Replication, archival, backup/restore / DB admin/ logging
Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in all the platforms
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git/SVN

Nice-to-have skills

Knowledge and experience of various Database HA Architectures.
Experience in scaling and managing Managed Services engagements.
Strong stakeholder management – external and internal including Exec levels.
Drive technical improvements and process automation.
Experience on Azure/AWS and Informatica will be an added advantage.
Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, etc.
Knowledge of limitations in Hadoop, Snowflake etc.

Qualifications

4 to 6 years of work experience in systems or application development
B.Tech/B.E/M.Tech or MCA degree from a reputed university. Computer science background is preferred.
