Purpose:
The Client Reporting (Technology) vertical has successfully delivered major transformation initiatives for M&G in the last few years including the delivery of Aladdin, and creating a digital platform (Azure and Apigee) using Agile methods. Client Reporting is accountable to our end users/clients to provide necessary data, analytics & information for downstream consumption to meet their business and regulatory requirements. This aspect also drives client satisfaction and trust with M&G Plc.
Role & Responsibilities:
We’re working diligently to build a technology foundation fit for a modern digital, insight-led, responsive business. As part of this exciting transformation we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work with us in Mumbai.
Demonstrate a passion for software development and the desire to listen and work with clients and peers across the department.
Own the of the product delivered ensuring it fits with existing patterns, practices and technology used across the wider team and department.
Demonstrate drive and help to continually improve the technical practices across our team.
Most importantly you will need to show you can be a valued, considerate member of a small scrum team responsible for delivering working, high quality software to production on a regular basis.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:
6+ years of experience working as Senior Software Engineer with Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering
You will have worked in a development role using a variety of technologies.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience with Microsoft Azure is essential. We are utilising several PaaS components for our application .including Data Lake, Logic and Web Apps.
Experience with Azure Data Lake or a similar product is essential for this role.
Experience working with Azure Data Factory.
Experience securing systems using PaaS components, micro-services and APIs.
Great database skills in both Data Lake technology and SQL Server.
Excellent C# skills and some other languages (PowerShell, Bash scripting).
Practiced in the use of the BDD and TDD to create testable software.
Implemented CI/CD pipelines (we are using Azure VSTS).
Experience working in an agile environment, we have adopted Scrum.
Experience with BI tools to present data (we use Power BI).
Good to have:
We are also looking for the following skills:
Experience working with Azure Databricks, Synapse.
Experience building web applications using convention based frameworks and JavaScript.
Experience with messaging patterns and service layers would be advantageous.
Knowledge or experience in Financial Services would be very beneficial.
