The Role

To define and deliver best in class digital experiences across Suncorp Bank’s key digital assets including mobile, web and smart devices.

This role will bring expert design thinking to take our digital capability to the next level for our customers. We are seeking individuals who are customer-obsessed and can elevate digital banking by playing a key role in solving business and customer challenges with fellow designers and wider group of stakeholders.

The successful candidate will work across a range of products, applications and initiatives, so the ability to adapt to changing business objectives is essential. Having prior experience working within the financial sector would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Problem Solving – Autonomously drive design solutions using HCD methodologies in an efficient and effective manner within Suncorp’s digital delivery framework. Identify new customer value propositions and translate those into world-class digital experiences
Design Delivery – Create elegant and usable UI designs to enhance user experience across all our digital platforms while making sure it meets accessibility standards. Other deliverables include but are not limited to wireframes, mock-ups and interactive prototypes
Stakeholder Management – Influence stakeholders with UX best practice and be an advocate for the customer. Must be able to present design output with clarity and confidence
Design System – Contribute to the evolution and growth of our Design System to ensure consistent and scalable designs across all our digital platforms. Champion high-quality design standards within the Group
User Research and Testing – Establish and advice direction on both qualitative and quantitative research to help identify problem space and use those insights to guide the design process. Should be able to facilitate and run basic interviews, workshops, surveys and usability tests

Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience designing digital products in an agile environment
Deep understanding and practical application of HCD methodologies in the design process with the ability to map out customer journeys, user flows and information architecture
Highly knowledgeable on responsive web and native mobile app design (iOS and Android)
Proficient in using design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch or equivalent) to create designs and prototypes at various levels of fidelity
Capable of building and maintaining a Design System which consists of style guides and shared component/pattern library
Good understanding of Digital Accessibility and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
Strong working knowledge on user research and discovery techniques with the ability to turn insights into user requirements or design recommendations
Experience in running usability tests and other lean testing methods
Keen eye for detail and up to date with latest design trends and emerging technologies
Previous experience in Financial Technology and/or Behavioural Science is desirable
A portfolio showcasing your latest UX/UI design work
