Job Description
Background: This position will be responsible for managing and delivering stable SIRRA Platform for TESCO Bank on AWS Cloud platform. This team operates in agile model with DBO approach where each member is responsible for Design Build & Operation/Support process. Design Build and maintain Tesco Bank’s strategic cloud platform and open source toolsets. good domain knowledge with more autonomy
Design:
Understands domains and domain modelling
Understands abstractions SOLID BASE DRY and basic code hygiene factors
Question requirements and challenge where necessary
Identify design patterns in code & Implement patterns as appropriate
Understand patterns for integration (events/services)
Produce the module and component designs
Design models data sets template and sub templates for platform automation
Have an architectural sense for ensuring availability reliability maintainability scalability etc.
Strong knowledge of HTTP based APIs
Aligning to Information Security Data Protection Data Governance and Data Architecture principles.
Understand the importance of project instrumentation (logging & monitoring) and able to implement
Design automated solutions that can be consumed in a self-service manner
Build:
Understand BDD/TDD/Performance/Security/Smoke testing
Test drive features in programming language of choice
Understand different major language paradigms (OOP/Functional)
Reason about complexity of algorithms (time and space) and code (cyclomatic)
Apply my understanding of secure coding
Write clean maintainable code
Take a defined problem including one or more components and come up with the implementation with minimal guidance
Produce technical estimates requirements and POCs
Aware of major language paradigms
Comfortably produce and refactor code
Develop high quality code that can lead to rapid delivery
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation
Understand version control & branching strategies
Understand & Apply feature toggling & secure coding practices
Operations:
End-To-End platform support & maintenance – Monitoring and patching.
Monitoring the cloud infrastructure
Support production systems resolve incidents and perform root cause analysis.
Identifying develop & automate service improvements & administrative tasks
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of one relevant operating system
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of one relevant database technology
Implement System Back-up & Restore mechanism
Setting up automated alerts to spot problems in the applications and infrastructure
Responsible for installing security patches initiate/restore backups etc
Use data from monitoring tools and produce system behaviour pattern
Others:
Own the delivery of a major component in a service or a small service entirely as part of a feature delivery
Suggest improvements to processes and methodologies to enhance delivery speed quality
Mentor and guide WL1 SDEs in the team and help in hiring
Focus on all work being high quality as a priority to avoid rework and ensure delivery is right first time.

Qualifications
Must Have Skills:
AWS Cloud Computing & Networking Concepts
Platform automation: CloudFormation & Sceptre, Jenkins, Dockers
DevOps: Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery
Programming Language – Python
Hands-on experience in Linux Shell Scripting/ PowerShell
Knowledge on Databases (Oracle) – DML DDL & PL/SQL
Hands on experience in environment capacity planning
Knowledge on working in agile teams
Knowledge on ITIL process
Good to Have Skills:
Programming languages: Scala
Infrastructure as Code: Terraform CDK
Knowledge on Kubernetes
App/Infra monitoring tools like Datadog CA APM Splunk
Data Science tool like Spark/Hadoop/ RStudio/ Shiny
Good technical knowledge on distributed/grid computing capacity planning performance optimization & management of application
Experience working in Agile teams
Learn and apply technologies techniques and methodologies that add value to my team.
Self-motivated self-directed abilities to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with “time-critical” deadlines
Written & Verbal communication skills
