Position Overview

Vectra is looking for a Support Software Engineering Manager to lead a new team to triage and solve customer issues in addition to planning and delivering long term improvements to our applications and services.

Responsibilities

As part of the Engineering team, you will be expected to:

Collaborate with Customer Support and Success teams on high priority customer issues
Interact directly with customers to debug and troubleshoot problems
Modify and develop code to improve an array of Vectra products and services
Work with product management for guidance on long term fixes and enhancements to reduce common customer issues
Fix and deploy security updates to core Vectra technologies
Help break down and plan work for your team
Help continue to grow the team through interviewing and hiring
Mentor and grow team members both technically and non-technically
Participate in architecture discussions and guide the technical direction of the team
Ensure smooth delivery of software with automated tests in a modern CI toolchain

Qualifications

Required
1+ years of technical management experience
3+ years professional software development experience
Experience working directly with customers to debug and solve issues
Experience as a scrum master in an Agile environment
Understanding of architecture and experience with REST APIs, databases, and other common technologies
Unix/Linux proficiency
Experience with Git for source control
Strong cloud knowledge, preferably AWS
Preferred
Python or Golang experience
JavaScript and JavaScript framework experience
Detailed knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and parallel computing
Knowledge of networking and security
