Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of work experience in software development.
Experience in software development using a general purpose programming language (e.g., C/C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, Go, Objective-C, and/or Swift).
Experience architecting and developing distributed systems design.
Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Direct technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting technical direction.
Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
Demonstrated expertise working with one or more of the following: Infrastructure, Machine Learning, Mobile Application Development, Embedded Systems, Front End Development, Security and Privacy.
Interest and ability to learn other coding languages.

Responsibilities
Help build a team and cultivate innovation by driving cross-collaboration and execution of projects across multiple teams.
Lead designs of key software components, systems, and features.
Work on Files.app, the Chrome OS file manager, improving existing features, building new features and refining its architecture to ensure long-term, sustainable growth and maintainability.
Collaborate with other teams looking to integrate their features into Files.app, understand their needs, prioritize requests, and facilitate our team to assist in the delivery of these features.
Develop the overall strategy for the application’s development and feature set and drive execution from ideas to delivery, in collaboration with the Technical Lead/Manager and Product Manager.
