Job Description : $13-$16 based on education and experience!Come join us for our fun filled summer camp and help our campers have a summer to remember!A Child’s Place is looking for energetic, friendly, and creative camp counselors to work with kids ages 5-12. We plan multiple field trips per week, with swimming and park days built in for an awesome summer experience. This would be a Monday-Friday schedule and we have openings at all 5 of our locations (Antioch, Big Hollow, Lindenhurst, McHenry, and Volo).The summer camp counselor is responsible for the day to day planning and execution of activities for the school age summer camp program. S/he will be responsible for ensuring the overall safety and well-being of each camper enrolled and responsible for implementing before/after camp activities within the child care center. The summer camp counselor will be required to submit activity plans to the camp director for review and approval on a weekly basis and will be responsible for implementing activity plans. The camp counselor will be expected to maintain a safe classroom environment, demonstrating exceptional classroom management and behavior management skills. The camp counselor will be expected to maintain a routine within the program and will be asked to communicate with parents through our electronic communications app. Additionally, the summer camp counselor will be responsible for all record keeping relating to child attendance, behavior plans, incident/accident reporting, etc.Minimum Educational and General Requirements:19 years of ageHigh School Diploma/GED, Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood or Youth Programming preferred.CPR/First Aid CertifiedWater Safety Training30 semester hours of college credits, with six credits in school age care, child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation, camping, or other related fields; OR1560 clock hours in a licensed child care program or recreational program serving school age children or a license exempt school-age child care program operated by a public or private school, and six semester hours (or nine quarter hours) of credit from an accredited college or university related to school-age child care, child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation, camping or other related fields; orA high school diploma or equivalency certificate plus 3120 clock hours of experience in a recreational program, kindergarten, or licensed day care center serving school-age children or a license exempt school-age child care program operated by a public or private school.Early childhood teachers and school-age workers shall be responsible for the planning and supervision of a group of children. Early childhood workers and school-age workers shall also be responsible for supervising persons assigned to assist their group who are not similarly qualified.Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
