PURPOSE STATEMENTResponsible for effective management of the accounts assistants (payable and receivable)Manage Balance Sheet Accounts and associated transactionsResponsible for accurate and timely VAT recordsEnsure adequate financial controls and systems are in place
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
Team Management
Manage roles and responsibilities and development of the accounts assistantsDevelop a cross functional, multi skilled accounts assistantsProvide the leadership, motivation and encouragement of the team
Integrity of Financial Records
Assist in the timely and accurate month end close within agreed deadlinesResponsible for the submission of VAT, EC Sales & Intrastat and ONS surveys. Ensure record keeping & reporting rules are adhered toEnsure complete, accurate and timely processing of all transactionsAssist in the preparation of year-end financial statementsEnsure clean annual audit opinion
Financial Controls & Systems
Develop, operate and maintain an effective system of internal controls to ensure a clean general ledgerEnsure efficient processes within the financial function and within cross functional processes involving financeEnsure EDI functionality with customers is set up and maintainedMaintain daily cashflow reporting to ensure supplier payments are made in line with agreed terms
Reporting and Analysis
Develop and manage purchase ledger & sales ledger reports, control systems and internal auditQuarterly Balance Sheet reports to WHQ including Leases, Prepaid expenses GRNI accountsDevelop cross functional reporting with Procurement and other teams within the businessAd hoc financial analysis as required
Business Improvement Activities
Manage the purchase ledger and sales ledger modules of D365Proactively identify and implement cost saving measuresSupport Finance Manager in any other business improvement/analysis projects
You must comply with Rich Products Limited Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
CriticalMinimum of 3 years work experience of FinanceProven experience as a Finance AdministratorDegree qualifiedStrong commercial thinking and financial awarenessControl costs and thinks in terms of profit, loss and added value
DesirableGood VAT, EC Sales and Intrastat knowledge in a similar environment.AAT qualifiedSupervisory experienceExperience of working in the Food or Manufacturing sectors
