How will you make an impact?
As an Accountants Assistant you will play a key role to support the delivery of excellent customer service by preparing and issuing accounts and returns for pension schemes administered by the Company, in accordance with procedures, standards and controls.

Who you are and the experience we are looking for
You will be responsible for the preparation and issuing of the annual report and accounts for our pension schemes.
Your role will include reviewing scheme files and appropriate documentation to gain an understanding of what has or should have occurred during a ‘scheme year’ in relation to the income and expenditure streams, capital movements, investments and disinvestments made.
You will complete control account reconciliations, year-end adjustments, accruals and prepayments and the maintenance of a professionally constructed working-papers file, providing both an audit trail and ease of reviewing cases.
Completion and submission of HMRC generated annual tax returns (SA970) and the registered pension scheme return (RPSR), ensuring regulatory deadlines are met.
You will form part of a team that communicates effectively and builds relationships with colleagues and other contacts.
You will work within a team that provides comprehensive Fund Accountant services to a portfolio of clients and their pension schemes.

Strong numeracy skills and competent in processing numerical data
Excellent planning and organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
Professional and clear communicator with the ability to build strong relationships
Possess good diagnostic, analytical and process skills with the ability to work to work to deadlines.
Knowledge of pension scheme account preparation would be useful, however, full training and mentorship will be provided.
Some experience within a finance support function or similar role would be beneficial
Working understanding of ledgers and double entry bookkeeping along with Accounting Preparation Packages is desired
