Position Overview:
The role is in Engineering Automation group that supports in-house and 3rd party Software applications that cater to engineering, procurement and construction. As part of supporting these applications, it is required to develop new solutions and enhance existing applications to meet requirements of EPC industry.
The candidate will be required to have a good knowledge of .Net and programming for developing both standalone solutions as well as enhancing and maintaining existing applications using their API’s based on Visual Studio/ Visual Code. Responsibilities will include developing custom solutions for 2D/ 3D CAD applications for Software like Smart3D, SmartPlant Review, AutoCAD, Microstation and MS Office to support work process improvement initiatives as well as Project specific requirements. Candidate will also be required to develop standalone applications to improve existing work processes or support new work processes. Candidate should have good understanding of designing architecture and develop the framework for application. Candidate should have knowledge of databases like SQL Server/ Oracle, XML, JSON. Prior knowledge on PowerShell, Shell scripting, Web API’s, OData and Visual Basic including handling of COM components and No-SQL databases will be an advantage. Understanding of schema structure for CAD applications will be an added advantage. Prior experience of supporting or developing applications in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) domain will be valued. Candidate should understand Windows operating systems.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in any Engineering with skills in programming / Diploma in Computer Science/ Degree in Computer Science with 4+ years of experience for degree and 5+ years of experience for diploma with relevant programming and engineering experience
Knowledge of using Visual Studio and or Visual Code is required
Knowledge of using API’s to develop custom solutions is required
Knowledge of integrating databases with applications is required
Good skills in oral and written communication.
The above is normally acquired through:Specialized courses in drafting, design and engineering practices, and CAD, ORA recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, AND
Knowledge of ES&H
