Apple’s AML (Applied Machine Learning) team is looking for highly motivated and talented Big Data Software Engineers in Reliability Engineering team to build and operate the next generation of platform, frameworks and software services that powers several mission critical big data platform and applications.
Key Qualifications
Java and/or Python expertise
Experience in architecting, building and operating end to end Kafka-based data-pipelines / Spark Jobs / Airflow DAGs / Jupyter Notebooks
Designing, building and operating distributed applications for scale
Expert level understanding of distributed processing technologies(spark, mapreduce etc) with a focus on internals
Expert level understanding of performance tuning applications as they scale to millions of requests/day and 100’s of terabytes of data
Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
Good understanding of Unix/Linux based operating system. Proficient in unix, command-line tools, and general system debugging
Description

The person should be capable of exhibiting deftness to handle multiple simultaneous competing priorities and deliver solutions in a timely manner. The person will have to participate in 12×7 on-call rotation and provide incident resolution for the production issues in timely manner. The person should be able to understand complex architectures and be comfortable working with multiple teams
Education & Experience
Additional Requirements
Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration framework.
Experience in large Hadoop/S3 clusters with 100’s of terabytes of data
A strong data background – dealing with OLTP or Analytics workloads at scale
