Job Description : The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:
Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions
Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Contribute to full development life cycle, including: requirements analysis, functional design, technical design, programming, testing, documentation, implementation, and on-going technical support
Technical hands on experience
Needs to be able to react and provide quick turnaround to business requirements and management requests
Should able to develop functional specification and technical design document.
Well versed in Software Development Life Cycle
Person should have good understanding of SDLC and flair to follow the processes.
Qualifications:
6 to 9 year of Development experience. 4+ year of experience in Bigdata Technology Hadoop and PySPark
The position is based in India and is required to review the day to day delivery work, ensuring a robust process implementation, identifying project/program delivery risks and work on risk mitigation.
Candidate will work independently and is highly self-motivated. He will be asked to represent the organization to third parties
Applies skills and knowledge of the business to develop creative solutions to meet client and business needs
The candidate will work with complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting needs
Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources
Mandatory Skills:
Should have proven records of delivering Data Pipeline for various big data projects.
Hands-on experience in Big Data platform using HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Hql, Sqoop, Scala, Spark, Python
Hands-on experience on Big Data performance tuning
Experience with Unix/Linux, Shell Scripting
Experience in Python and PySpark
Experience in Data warehouse and ETL process
Good team player interested in sharing knowledge and cross-training other team members and shows interest in learning new technologies and products.
Self-starter who works with minimal supervision
Financial markets background is preferable but is not a must
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
