Queensland Rail is an integrated customer and rail infrastructure business servicing passenger, tourism, resources and freight customer markets throughout Queensland.
We are looking for a Contract Manager to join our Regional Design and Contracts team to provide expert contract management services to support Queensland Rail in delivering high-quality commercially focused contract solutions for infrastructure project delivery in civil, building, electrical, signalling and other disciplines across Queensland Rail. This is a permanent full-time opportunity that is based in our Brisbane CBD Office.
We are looking for a motivated individual with previous experience in rail, construction management or project management in construction related work. You will be adaptable with outstanding communication and stakeholder and stakeholder engagement skills.
As a Contract Manager, you can anticipate some of your daily activities to include:
Providing contract management and administration of all aspects of development and delivery of multiple contract types to achieve construction and operational safety, compliance to technical standards and contract requirementsManaging stakeholder aspects including pre-tender issues, scope changes, reporting and contract delivery within budget, quality and delivery milestones to achieve stakeholder satisfactionResolving contract disputes, carry out site inspections, chair contract meetings and write contract correspondenceProviding technical assistance and supervision to Construction InspectorsDeveloping and enhancing safety, environmental, quality and technical standards, specifications and proceduresProviding supervision and technical direction to external contractors and internal service providers in the delivery of projects
About you
High level of skill in the management/administration of contracts. Experience in Rail infrastructure projects and/or rail system supply / installation works will be desirableExtensive knowledge of the requirements for railway infrastructure construction and maintenance and how they impact on railway operation to ensure the safety of passengers, workers and trainsHigh level of skill in meeting statutory, regulatory and policy obligations particularly in relation to satisfy the safety environment, contract processes and Human Resource requirements in a commercially focused businessHigh level leadership, people management, interpersonal, planning coordination and negotiation skillsHigh level of skill in monitoring budgets and preparation of contract management reportsConstruction related qualification – desirable
This is a permanent full-time opportunity which has an annual salary of $123,515 per year + super + free rail to and from work on duty days. Some travelling and working on weekends / outside hours will be required from time to time.
