Actuarial IT Application Developer:
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining Actuarial Reserving Applications and Data Warehouse systems. The individual engages with Actuarial Reserving business and IT teams to define, prioritize, and implement functional enhancements and operational changes in the Actuarial Reserving Platform.
Responsibilities
Participate in design and build of IT solutions per business requirements
Accumulate IT subject matter expertise (SME) for existing Actuarial applications
Help estimate work requests at various levels with confidence
Provide input to testing strategy, configuration, deployment, hardware/software requirement etc.
Support resolution of defects during application testing phases
Build and maintain relationship with business teams
Review plan and provide feedback on gaps, timeline and execution feasibility etc., as required in the tasks
Participate in KT sessions conducted by customer/ other business teams and provide feedback on requirements
Maintain working relationships with business users, developers, application support team, and other IT teams

Qualifications/Requirements
Required
Bachelor’s degree in computer science
3+ years of hands-on software design and development experience
3+ years of diverse ETL concepts, subject matter expert in Informatica
Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts, 2+ years of experience in MS SQL Server
2+ years of experience in T-SQL: Stored Procedures, Functions, Complex Joins, # tables, CTE’s, Pivot/Unpivot
Hands-on experience on scheduling tools like Autosys
Ability to quickly grasp the business needs and be able to adapt to changes
Work in all aspects of the ETL development cycle including requirements gathering, design, develop, test, deploy and support
Ability to co-ordinate to solve technical and production issues
Excellent communication and flexible to work in a shift overlapping with United States (East Coast)

Desired
Informatica and SQL Server configuration knowledge
Knowledge of .Net development concepts
Knowledge of Data Modeling concepts: Table/ Index design, Partitioning
Insurance domain knowledge
Good understanding of Cloud computing
Understanding of Big Data and Data Science concepts
