Atlassian
Location : Bengaluru, Karnataka

Job Description : Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity, assuming candidates have eligible working rights and a sufficient timezone overlap with their team. As our offices re-open, Atlassians can choose to work remotely or return to an office, unless it’s necessary for the role to be performed in the office. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

The Atlassian ecosystem has been wildly successful: we surpassed $1 billion in lifetime revenue on the Atlassian Marketplace, and Over 60% of Jira Software and Confluence customers use at least one Marketplace app.

Now, the team powering the platform behind this Ecosystem has a huge role to play in enabling our customers’ journey to the Cloud. Together, we are enabling customers to confidently extend their Atlassian Cloud products, without trading off on security or reliability.

Due to the organizational growth, this newly created team in BLR will become part of the Scale pillar for Ecosystem Platform’s Enterprise & Admin org and contribute to the mission of scalability of core services related to invocation of Forge apps and hosted storage.

Where you’ll make an impact
As a member of the Enterprise Ecosystem team, you will be responsible for an engineering team that builds, improve and operate the infrastructure, services, and APIs that enable third-party developers to extend Atlassian products.
We will focus especially on the needs of Enterprise customers, who seek guarantees that the extensions they install meet detailed security, reliability, and compliance standards. Together, we will design the features and tools to ensure app developers can easily deliver on sophisticated engineering challenges. For example, how can we help them deliver data residency and data access control policies in distributed systems, whilst keeping their apps reliable and performant in a multifaceted, high-scale cloud environment?

We will also contribute to building and running Forge, Atlassian’s cutting-edge, FaaS-based extension platform, which simplifies and accelerates the process of building Apps.

In this role, you will collaborate closely not only with your immediate team but also with engineering managers across a wide range of Atlassian product and infrastructure teams, as well as with product managers and 3rd party vendors.
On your first day, we’ll expect you to have:
Experience leading a development team in (at least) a technical capacity
A passion for driving a cultural change in technical excellence, quality, and efficiency
Operational experience with teams responsible for running mission-critical production services
Willingness to take ownership of the services your team owns
Experience with agile software development methodologies and software development practices (unit testing, pair programming, and continuous integration).
Ability to communicate and collaborate on ideas and designs with your team and beyond, in a remote working environment.
A “non-hero approach”: rather than celebrating heroic efforts pulled off to resolve an incident, prefer engaging in engineering practices that avoid the incidents in the first place!
The following are not required, but definite bonuses:
Experience with public cloud offerings (AWS, or equivalents in another cloud provider, e.g. GCP or Azure)
Experience influencing teams outside your own organisation with data and insights
A demonstrated ability to foster an innovation culture in your teams
Worked within an engineering environment that must meet regulated industry laws and certifications such as FedRAMP, HIPAA, SOC2, or ISO 27001
