Job Description : We are looking for an operationally minded team member to help support the Operations team.The role will be varied, but with a focus on financial administration, and you’ll be learning fast in an entrepreneurial environment. You will report to our Finance & Operations Manager but will work across the operations team.ABOUT THE ROLEThere are three main areas of work. Your responsibilities will include, but won’t be limited to:1) Finance Operations (50%)Supporting our Finance and Operations Manager with day to day finances including processing payments, invoices, payroll and credit cards.Following up outstanding payments and invoices.Liaising with our accountants on basic financial matters.Working with new partner organisations to set us up as a supplier on their system, and managing our ongoing commitments.An understanding of Xero is a bonus but not essential2) People Operations (25%)Supporting our People and Projects Officer with recruitment including booking in interviews and managing candidates through the recruitment journey.Supporting onboarding and offboarding of team members.Working with the People and Projects Officer to ensure our policies are adhered to and understood by the team.Researching new benefits for the team to ensure we are looking after our team well.3) Business Operations (25%)Ensuring we are adhering to our BCorp commitments, and we are continuing to improve our operations as a Bcorp.If you have a particular interest in wellbeing, sustainability or D&I, you can join the working groups we have in these areas.Managing our fixed asset spreadsheet, managing and auditing our office technology and liasing with our tech support.Supporting ad hoc operations projects, and administration within the Operations team where necessary.About YouWe don’t expect the person we hire to have ALL the following but hopefully this gives you a sense of what would enable you to thrive in this role and in our team:APPLY IF…You’re a natural numbers person, with excellent analytical skills and are detail orientated.You love operations, and enjoy working with different internal stakeholders to consider how to make an organisation work best for its teamYou are strategic and can think on your feet, with strong organisational skills that help you manage and achieve competing prioritiesYou’re a good communicator; comfortable working with leaders more senior to you and everyone across our team.You love building relationships in a warm, genuine wayYou are passionate about what we are trying to do and you see this as an opportunity to align your values and purpose with a successful social enterprise with big ambitionsYOU’LL LOVE IT HERE IF YOU…Are optimistic, bring warmth and good humour to work, have a strong collaborative work ethic and bring positive intent to every situationAre fascinated by different organisations and sectors – and would appreciate the responsibility of having access to some of the UK’s most influential institutionsHave a curious mind and are always open to the insights and perspectives of othersLove the idea of working somewhere people share your values and are fully focused on making a meaningful impact on the worldWould enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, are happy to work without a big support structure around you, and would like to grow with a small but ambitious organisation as it develops over timeAbout usThe Forward Institute was set up in 2015 by a group of major organisations with a bold mission: to make responsible leadership the only leadership.We believe that much depends on our collective leadership over the next decade.
