Job Description : Financial / Management Accountant

Dual site/home TBC

Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours per week)

£27k – £30k

The role of the Financial / Management Accountant is important in ensuring that the School and College meet the educational, social, emotional and physical needs of all Learners. St. John’s aims to work on a ‘team approach’ but there are specific roles and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Working closely and jointly with the Financial Accounting Manager:
To assist with: –
Maintaining accurate financial records and reports
Profit and Loss Accounts / Balance Sheet
Prepayments / accruals
Ownership of the GL
Monthly / adhoc journals
Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Cash Flow
Budget reports and variance analysis
Financial forecasting
Annual budget preparation
Fixed asset control
Preparation of yearend and statutory accounts
Audit preparation
Income recognition
Income costing calculations
Adhoc reports and investigation of financial queries
Completion of financial returns e.g. grants and ONS
Review and update financial policies and procedures

As part of a small team additional other tasks will also be required –
Chasing debt and debt management
Managing and reconciling bank accounts
Supporting the Head of Finance and Financial Accounting Manager
