The Chief Digital Transformation Office (CDTO) offers an opportunity to shape and drive VMware’s Digital Transformation to enable Operations to scale and support VMware’s growth.
We are part of GCA engineering team responsible for accelerating digital transformation of VMware’s GTM, Customer experience businesses by providing technical leadership to implementing scalable technical solutions for the critical business initiatives.
We are on an initiative to help expand VMware’s GTM business by providing appropriate tools that will lay foundation for SAAS offerings thereby improving the business process efficiency and effectiveness.
As a UI Developer, you will get an opportunity to work on enterprise class, modern application ecosystem to apply your knowledge, explore new functional/technical domains
What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?
As an UI developer, you will be responsible for the front-end design and development of applications primarily on the Marketing Ecosystem for Digital Web Experience and Marketing Operations. You will partner with the technical leads and product owners to design and build the solution.
You will closely work with fellow developers across the Adobe tech stack (including, but not limited to AEM, Target, AAM, etc.) and custom Marketing applications, handle production systems, business & leadership communications, debug any production issues and get these to closure.
Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Understand marketing ecosystem from system, functional, technical and design point of view
Identify opportunities of improvement and optimizations in various production systems
Identify automation opportunities for productivity optimizations
Propose & discuss optimization solutions with Product owners & fellow developers
Contribute to brainstorming discussions, Design & Implement solutions for Personalization & Experimentation
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Own the development of the application components in the tech stack mentioned above
Appreciate the DevOps model; own the Quality of code through the build, test and UAT cycle
Collaborate with DevOps and release management team to promote the build to production
Review and analyse production issues, break fixes, security & vulnerability issues
Collaborate with developers, operations team, security team etc. to drive solutions
Keep leadership, stakeholders and other partnering teams updated about any production break fixes
Partner with product owners to understand Analytics, Personalization & Experimentation space in Marketing Ecosystem
Required skills:
Deep expertise knowledge in Object oriented JavaScript (ES5/6/7), Angular 6+, TypeScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS , Node JS, Responsive web development (Bootstrap, CSS GRID, Flex, Angular material design)
Familiar with MVC/MVP software design along with Database Knowledge on anyone of these: Mysql/Postgres/Mongo DB
Worked on projects with source control/version or package management. Relevant technologies: Github, gitlab, npm
Experience working in application performance and monitoring, cross platform development/testing.
Knowledge on agile, sprints scrum concepts using JIRA, Confluence tools
Familiar with build tools and devops pipelines including CI/CD (Integration and Delivery) and continuous testing (CT) practices.
Experience writing unit and integration testcases, perform code-review and creation / support for relevant documentation (requirement/design/test specification).
Excellent debugging and problem-solving capability
Requirement analysis and design of software solutions based on requirements and architectural /design guidelines.
Understand business problems and suggest technology solutions.
Good to have:
Knows about server hosting using PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry)/AWS, Docker/Kubernetes microservices.
Knowledge on Postman, CURL, Web Inspector, Swagger
Knowledge of RESTful web services, SOA concepts
Prior experience in VMWare Clarity framework.
Good in Data Structures fundamentals
