The Amadeus Travel intelligence team is looking for a Full stack Data, BI, DevOps Engineer in the Airline Market insite product suite.
The AIrline Market suite of products employs a variety of Statistical and Machine Learning models in a complex data pipeline to estimate global airline passenger traffic and other critical metrics.These product enable data driven decision making by airlines, in numerous areas such as planning and scheduling, sales and marketing, and revenue manegement. They are also used by travel agencies and direct marketing organizations for tourism and travel. The Data engineer in the team would be responsible for working on establishing complext data pipelines involve multiple heterogenous data sources and processing of data on the Big Data Ecosystem. The Data Engineer would be working with a team of Data Scientists, Data Analysts and DevOps to acoomplish the project milestones..
Major Responsibilities:
Works with team to prototype,implement and productionize data processing for multiple Data sources both in a streaming and batch-based setup.
Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to improve the accuracy of the Machine Learning models already employed
Design, construct, install , test and maintain data maangement systems
Mentor the Data Engineering team on the best practices to be adopted for Data Processing and Data Pipeline through the usage of standard processes and Tools.
Coordinate with different functional teams to understand their data and build data pipelines to conusme their data in order to enhance the acuracy of the estimates of AMI products
Develop set processes for Data mining, Data modelling and Data production.
Consitiently strives to optimize the Data processing jobs both in terms of cost and time.
Stay curious and enthusiastic about using algorithms to solve problems and enthuse others to see the benefit of your work.
Build visualizations / dashboards / presentations to support and communicate said anlyses and scenarios.
Be prepared to work on variety of technical areas. Be willing to learn new programming languages / tools / technologies as required , such as Python and R libraries.
Relevant Job Experience:
Must Have:
7-10 years of relevant experience working in similar technology role.
Strong experinece in Spark, Scala , Impala , Python , Hadoop , Webservices , BI-Qlik/tableu/Power BI etc.
Strong experience in working with the entire Big Data Ecosystem inclusing highly distributed and performant systems.
Experience in working with development teams, and not just in a pure “analysing and prototyping” mode.
Good Experience in Architecting and designing highly scalable and Distributed systems.
Good Experience in deploying data application on AWS.
Nice to have:
Masters’ /Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering , Statistics or other mathematical field.
Familiarity with big data platforms such as Hadoop , Spark , Impala, etc.
Familiarity/experience with building Business Intelligence(BI) platforms – Qliksense
Work experience and business knowledge in the travel domain , especially airlines
Knowldege of Predictive Modelling techniques (mainly Regression and Classification) and Time Series Forecasting technique.
Good in programming in a conventional programming language such as Java or C++.
