Our local team consists of business consultants, full-stack software developers, data engineers, and data scientists.About the projectWe are building a powerful tool that will corral complex water information to make it understandable for water users in Queensland, to help the Government agency (which is our client) make more informed planning decisions and to regain the trust of the broader community in how water is used, shared, traded and managed.The roleWe want to extend our skills and knowledge from web technologies such as ReactJS, Bootstrap, Leaflet and NodeJS and Docker containers to native app technologies on mobiles. You will be responsible for designing and building outstanding apps with our UX experts and water specialists. As a senior software engineer, you will be part of a team working in Scrum to analyse user needs, interact with customer water and legal experts, and develop innovative cross-platform solutions that will transform the experience for water users and the public.This position plays an essential role in leading the technical side of the project by bringing new ideas and solutions to the team, researching new technologies and applying them effectively.As a Senior SW Engineer, you will also participate in engineering tasks of planning the project’s scope, task estimation and coordination, scheduling and supervising more junior staff. We are a close-knit team and you will also need to play a part in building our collective skills by exposing us all to new features and technologies and supporting junior software engineers in skills development through coaching and advice.About youYou are a senior developer with demonstrated experience in full-stack web programming, especially mobile app development, with a solid knowledge of current and emerging front and back-end technologies. Having experience in water or another natural resource and/or in regulatory environments (e.g. pollution) would be highly viewed.You know how to deliver best-in-class software with Scrum or other agile frameworks and have demonstrable experience designing, developing and deploying software solutions. You will have worked as part of a team in all the lifecycle of the project from planning, architecture, design, implementation, documentation and customer support. You’re skilled in analysing software requirements, designing, testing, and implementing complex software systems with multiple technologies.You are genuinely curious about how things work and passionate about technology, especially in what it can do for people in liberating them and helping them in their day-to-day lives. You like to learn new things every day and feel comfortable sharing with others.
