Job Description : The Oracle Health Insurance (OHI) Product development team with an established clientele in the Health Insurance industry domain is interested in selecting a principal application engineer / architect to join the team. We are a team of bright, motivated, experienced and talented people who look forward every day to meet the challenge of building out reliable, robust software to help Health Insurance payers process large volumes of claims and maintain policies, enable them to use alternative payment models to reduce and manage health care costs. This position is for the role of a Java/JEE Principal Engineer / Application Architect for the OHI Components suite of applications. While this role require work on design and architecture, most of our architects spend substantial amount of writing code so we are looking for hands-on engineer. We are looking for someone who has keen interest in learning business domain and can quickly become subject matter expert on specific product component. Roles & Responsibilities include
Design, write, test, debug, and maintain Java/J2EE server side components of the OHI products
Collaborate with other team members on assignments
Mentor junior developers
Estimate tasks and meet milestones and deadlines appropriately
Solve complex production issues
Report progress on tasks and projects
Understand and improve underlying Server side architecture
Strive for continuous improvement of Development Process & standards
Essential Skills
BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
At least 10 years of relevant experience on design and development
At least 6 years’ experience in Server side software development
Good understanding of design and architecture principles
Proficient in Java/JEE tech stack
Experience with SOA and WebServices (RESTful)
Development skills with Oracle application server and database
Knowledge of continuous integration tools, like Hudson, Jenkins
A fast learner with keen interest on acquiring functional knowledge and become techno-functional expert.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences.
Preferred Skills,
Experience of working on B2B product
Domain knowledge of Health Insurance
Performance tuning of server side application components
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
