Automotive Embedded Software Engineer
Role Description
As a member of the Software Design team for Product Development, the AE Software Engineer contributes to all aspects of software development in the implementation of automotive products.
This role’s task is to design, implement, test, debug and optimize applications. Software in this level generally complement and control low level software, firmware and hardware. Furthermore, this level interfaces the product to external systems such as SoCs, ECUs, etc
The role’s scope also includes understanding, implementing and integrating with external systems and its related software components.
This role will help build and support a strong automotive product development process by being knowledgeable, compliant, practicable, and a proponent of automotive grade software development disciplines.
Required Qualifications
You must have a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related field with 4 years of relevant work or lab experience
Strong programming ability in C, C++14, C++17, and Python
Good experience developing user mode system software and drivers for HW accelerators
Extensive experience in architecture design and implementation of embedded software applications
Experience in commercial development for automotive (or similar highly-regulated) industry
Knowledge and experience in software testing and reliability management, including the implementation of diagnostic features (i.e. Fault Injection, etc.)
Strong understanding of computer architecture and its elements (ISAs, Cache managers, memory controllers & busses, interrupt controllers, etc.)
Development discipline using bug tracking and configuration management tools
Craft and maintain system software for Autonomous Vehicle products
Design and sustain system tools for product development and product verification
Develop real-time data processing functions for high-end autonomous vehicle compute platforms
Performance optimization
Experience with DSPs, microcontrollers and real-time operating systems.
Prior AUTOSAR or other automotive RTOS embedded programming experience is a plus.
Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge or experience in implementing machine learning and/or computer vision algorithms
Knowledge of parallel processing techniques and their application
Knowledge of automotive operating systems (Linux or other OS – kernel driver development, etc.)
Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, SPI etc.)
Knowledge or experience developing software for safety (ASPICE/CMMI etc.)
Knowledge of automotive quality standards and their proponents (ISO26262, MISRA, OSEK etc.)
Experience working on GPU technology, imaging, camera, and multimedia
Familiarity with AI, Deep Learning and/or Computer Vision.
Knowledge of real-time data processing, networking and communication
Experience developing server based tools for image processing
